For far future Post Apoc, Logan's Run, Planet of the Apes, and Buck Rogers w/out spaceships. I like the domed cities among the wastelands.
I think the Armageddon: 2419 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armageddon_2419_A.D. setting with a Chinese conquest of America and Han cities is a lot more plausible now than it was 90 years ago, but I also like the Buck Rogers in the 25th Century TV show's mostly Caucasian New Chicago, so I think I'd likely go with the latter minus space travel. PCs could be wasteland mutants battling hi-tech Pure Strain humans, or New Chicagoan Pure Strain humans delving into the Ruins, or possibly a mix.
