The First Key is inserted and this time turned right by Dandy.

As soon as the key is turned, the south 15 feet of the floor begin to rise, including the area of the pool. Dandy backs up quickly and the party watches as a mithril vault fills the south part of the room. There is a door in the center of the device, which slowly opens.

Within the vault is a huge treasure: gems of all sorts, potions and scrolls (12 and 6 respectively, by your count outside of the vault), three swords, a spear, a rod, a staff, and some other things hidden beneath the treasure you can see. Beyond the trove is a sort of altar, covered in dust and a skull...

Grimes nods his head and says with a shrug "Well, boys... let's get this thing so we can go home, eh?" Glancing at Dandy and Deiter (the wise and smart ones, respectively) he says quietly "Uh, what now? Just unload on that thing?"

OOC: Grimes waits for instruction, not knowing how to engage whatever might be in here. We only get one shot at this, so he doesn't want to F' it up.

The jinn indicated a ghost and a skull.... there is the skull, let's see if the ghost appears. We only just opened the door.

Castinus waits for the results of Dieter's true seeing. He looks at the pile of dust, waiting for it to form into the lich they've come so far to defeat. "I doubt he'd leave us a pile of weapons to defeat him," he says, pointing at the swords, spears, rods, etc., scattered among the treasure.

OC: Here's an idea. What if we try combining an exorcism with the bag of tricks? So far, everything Castinus has pulled out of the back has been harmless herbivores. Maybe we could force the spirit of Acererak into a herd animal, and then kill it. Hey, it worked in the Bible--sort of--why not here? ;) With an exorcism, though, the spirit usually resides in an unwilling host. That's not the case in this instance, but it could be worth a shot. Also, who's to say he wouldn't occupy one of our bodies instead of the animals? Hmmm...

True Seeing reveals that this is a vault filled with treasure and an alter with dust and a skull on it. There are no secret doors, invisible creatures or objects, or illusions here.

Grimes scratches his head and smiles a sinister smile as he hoists Wave up ominously. "Well, when in doubt, I always advocate smashing everything to bits. And that skull looks like a great thing to smash, eh?"

OOC: As usual, Grimes' response is mindless smash/bash/violence. He is open to tactical suggestions.

Doing the obvious here will likely get us killed.... my only thought would be to attempt a unified strike on the skull. Thoughts?
