It seems a good candidate would be to use the AEC instead of LL if you want to stay "closer" to the mechanics of 3e.

+1 for Midnight, ran it in 3.0 & 3.5. I think if I run it again, I'll try a different system though rather than LL/AEC/B/X. Not that those won't work, I just think there are other systems that would be fun to try out using Midnight, nothing other than that really.
