Caydon - Rogue
Caydon scans the floor, looking for signs of disturbance or passage in the dust or detrius. Working his way to a pillar, he examines it more closely. "This is disturbing, it almost looks 'alive'. Thurwin, Effric, what do you make of this?"

The party moves slowly, carefully into the nave towards the central altar.


Each square is 30ft. This place is huge!

The pillars here are white marble, veined with ugly red. The altar block of pinkish white marble is roughly oval something over 7 feet long by 5 feet wide. Its top has a hollowed out portion resembling a human form, with legs apart and arms away from the body. This depression is stained a darker color than the rest. Just north of the altar is a circular, marble-lined pit—a well of sorts—20 feet in diameter. Shards of broken crystal vessels lie about the well, near the altar, and scattered about the floor. A crystal knife with a broken blade lies atop the stone block.

Tavin looks up. The rafters are very high but he espies no movement up there. If there are bats in the belfry, they are asleep.

There appear to be altars at the east and west wings, if you explore those (4 and 5 on the map). There is a grand staircase continuing north, with what could be a high altar beyond. It is difficult to tell from where you are (which is near #3 on the map).

Yes, this place is like nothing I have ever seen. It would be better if it did not exist, it pulls to much yang energy... very off balance.

OCC: Okay a bit of trivia. There is a small town in Montana called Belfry, we used to drive through it pretty often when I was a kid. The name of their HS sports teams are the Belfry Bats.

Thurwin glances at Morgan several times as the altar and other evil implements are discovered. He says quietly "This place is terrible. I'm with Tavin, it's too bad this place stands. Let's examine the upstairs here and see what's about, the stairs aren't going anywhere."

Light is provided from the high windows. The sunny day outside makes for good, if high contrast, light within the temple.

No signs of recent passage that a wizard might see. The floors aren't dusty though, suggesting that this place is in a kind of active use even though no one is seen currently.
