The party gets to the T intersection at the top of the hall. It becomes immediately apparent where the commotion is coming from and you head towards it.

Image

You enter the room seeing Grimes engaging an ogre in battle. The ogre's club just whistled over Grimes' head while the halfling's own return slash missing as well. As you enter the room, you see another ogre, wait, another two ogres coming in through the far door.

"Hey!" Castinus shouts. "Why don't you pick on someone, um, closer to your own size." He looses a double arrow at Grimes' quarry. "Fool of a halfling," he mutters to himself.

OC: arrow deducted

Grimes - Fighter

Grimes will try to do a fighting withdrawl so he can ensnare as many ogres as possible in the web of his cloak of arachnidia... If that's no possible, he'll grimace at the ogre and swing again, aiming for appendages....

grrr, I was hoping to get more responses.

Grimes' Antagonism round 1(ish)

INITIATIVE baddies [1d6] = 2 party [1d6] = 1 Baddies have initiative.

The first ogre attacks Grimes again monster attack [1d20] = 20 MAX DAMAGE and knocks the halfling silly.

The second ogre crosses over to Furuk to try to do the same monster attack [1d20] = 7 but doesn't have as much success.

The third ogre disappears with a grin. Uh-oh

The party responds...

Shae casts continual light on the ogre attacking Furuk (who is now closest) and blinds him!

Dieter (autopilot) throws a dart at the Grimes' foe PC attack [1d20] = 19 HIT Dieter dart damage [1d4] = 1 wounding him.

Castinus fires his bow of doubling Castinus bow of doubling [1d20+3] = 15+3 = 18, [1d20+3] = 2+3 = 5, [1d6] = 6, [1d6] = 1 and hits with both arrows.

Grimes cannot get his web attack off with the ogre pressing him, so he tries his fighting withdrawl Grimes attack roll [1d20] = 20, dmg [1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3 which is very successful. He lops the club arm off above the elbow and gains distance. The ogre is near death.

Furuk also responds to his assailant Furuk attack Sword +1 [1d20+3] = 7+3 = 10, dmg [1d8+3] = 2+3 = 5 and makes him pay for choosing to attack the half-orc.

Two ogres still attack. The third is invisible and dangerous. The battle wages on.

Grimes - Fighter Crazy Wee Man

Soldiering on through the pain, Grimes chuckles at the ogre's missing arm and says "Looks like you could use a hand." And swings at him, hoping to finish him off.

Shae - Fighter/Mage

Shae quickly reaches for her vial of ink. Removing the stopper, she looks for an opportunity, then slings the ink in a wide arc using the invisible ogre's last known location (and the fact that the other ogres take up a lot of space-there is only so many places to be standing) trying to "tag" the invisible ogre. Hopefully this will "stain" him, and make him an easier target. Even if she misses, she hopes the beast will at least step in it so as to be "tracked" that way. "Come on now big ugly, give us something to shoot at...pretty please?"
ooc: Not throwing the vial, slinging ink to cover/splash a large horizontal swath.

Castinus smirks at Shae's quick thinking. "Nice work," he says with a grin, then fires an arrow at the ink-stained ogre, assuming Shae hits her mark.

Arrow deducted.
