Satisfied to have put 4 of his foes out of combat, but anguished by the sight of his kin mates coming in in even greater numbers, Zavenorrin readies his lance and strikes at the nearest attacking toad. "Go back where you came from, you fiendish creatures!"

With his long sword as his primary weapon, and magic dagger as main gauche, Leon will attempt to team up with a nearby comrade to put down one of these toads as quickly as possible.

OOC: Hi, a lance is a weapon to be effectively used when mounted. Everyone has dismounted at this point. Would you like to use a spear or different weapon perhaps?

[OOC: You are right, spear would be the appropriate weapon. Sorry for the confusion...]

Vs the Giant Yellow Toads, Round 2

Behind the black Temple in the swampy underbrush

Initiative rolls, party 1, toads, 4. The monsters win round 2 Init and will be first to act.

Four of the gross yellow toads bound forward to snap and bite at Balfa x2, Zavenorrin, Leon.
Atk rolls: 4,5,9,8 - all miss!

Three hold back at a 10' range approximately, and launch their gummy elongated bone white tongues at, Leon, Balfa, Zavenorrin.
Atk rolls: 5, 20, 17. Balfa and Zavenorrin each are hit by a tongue!
Each must make a save vs. Paralyzation at +2, from the gummy saliva.
Save rolls, 6, 2 - both fail...and they feel their bodies seize up like rigor mortis!

OOC: I will roll the party's actions/attacks out from round 2 shortly (pressed for time) ;)

Edit, Balfa actually passes his save, as the roll was a 6 +2 = 8!, after referring to both the LL book and the B/X book it appears Elves immunityto paralyzation is only from Ghouls, Balfa and Zavenorrin each have glue-like tongues attached to their torsos. Zavenorrin is paralyzed for an unknown duration.

Let the red dawn surmise
What we shall do,
When this blue starlight dies
And all is through.

The battle behind the Temple continues...Round 2, part 2

There are no missles or spells declared so we will get right to the melee

Zavenorrin stands rigid, with a pale look on his Elven face. He has a white tongue stuck to his torso.
Immmalor quickly asseses the danger and charges in with his battle ax. Atk roll 2 misses
Turin hammers into one with his magical mace. Atk roll 6 misses
Leon the thief, fights two handed with an off hand magical dagger, Atk rolls 5,20. The magic dagger in his left hand squarely sticks the Yellow Toad for 3+2 = 5 dmg. It oozes a clearish liquid from it's side but still lives!
Egbert the Dwarven Veteran enters the fray with his long sword and shield. Atk roll 9+ 2 STR = 11, Hits! for 6+2=8 hps dmg. He slices into it deep with a sideways blow, goopy entrails and clearish ooze come from the beast, but it is still barely hanging on!
Balfa, STR check , rolls a 2 succeeds, shrugs off the tongue sticking to him from last round. He swings his battle ax in a high arc. Atk roll 19 hits!, dmg roll 1, he attacks the injured one that his Dwarf companion Eggi just hit finishing it off, it is now a pile on the ground.

Thats the end of Round 2, there are 6 active Toads and 4 sleeping Toads. Zavenorrin continues to be paralyzed.

What are your round 3 actions, as I will be rolling round 3 Init next..

Leon keeps stabbing and slashing, hoping to kill the toads before anyone else gets paralyzed.

Immalor, Elf

Immalor strikes again with his weapon, hoping his aim is true this time!
