Back in April of 2009, I pulled out my classic S&S book and threw together a character, going through the chargen process to demonstrate it to the readers of my blog, as well as to give a bit of insight into the system.

Nope. Pretty much everything is unlike SFAD.

S&S brief overview
8 stats, 10.5 average, 1-20 range; 6 are rolled on 3d6, 2 rolled on 1d6 (with hefty racial bonuses)
Most actions resolved by 1d20 vs attribute. No skill system.
Setting is a Star Trek Pastiche, but with lots of other strong influences pulling it out of being strictly trek.
Class & Level, but primary benefits of level are additional gear and raise an attribute by 1 each new level.
Class determines what gets you XP, rather than having special abilities.
