thurwin

Thurwin shakes his head at Fr. Redmond's antics and quickly follows to the inn. As Tavin smiles at the occupants thurwin groans and heads for a remote table to observe things.

OOC: funny stuff. Tavin and the good father are like the welcome wagon - nulb style. Glad I've got one sleep left.

With a scowl, Father Redmond will follow the others inside, but not without first casting Zagyg's Soul Sight (Detect Evil).

Effric, Druid

Effric raises an eyebrow at but otherwise ignores the good Father's antics. He sits with Thurwin and observes the clientelle for a moment before ordering a drink.

Many of the patrons of the Waterside Hostel watch the party as they enter, sizing them up and trying to determine intentions, it seems. Tavin's grin reaction check [2d6] = 11 seems to make a few of them even more hostile, with three large men, two humans and a half-orc, in particular rising from their seats and preparing for a fight. One of the humans, a swarthy, leather-faced man, pulls a dagger before one of the serving wenches whispers says something to him in a low voice. Never taking his eyes off the monk, the man sheathes his dirk and takes his seat as a new drink is brought to him.

The patrons eyes you until you sit, then return to their conversations. A manservant comes and takes orders, returning after a far too long wait with tepid, yellowy water and watered-down, skunky ale.

Soon after you receive the horrid drinks, the doors open. You see a man enter with a white cloak emblazoned with the lightning bolt and clenched fist of Heironeous over his plate mail armor. In front of him he pushes a filthy urchin who looks like he'd rather not be there.

Actions?

Tavin - Monk

Tavin will avoid drinking what is brought: I respect my body... he will mutter under his breath.

Seeing the rukis at the door Tavin will watch with interest.

Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin studies the man with the white cloak intently with a raised eyebrow. He mumbles to Caydon "This place is getting interesting."

OOC: He'll watch and wait for the moment. He wants to talk to this guy, but he'll see what shakes loose.

Calthas considers the beverages on the table for a while when the door opens. Surprised, he looks at the new comer, and loses interest in his drink.

Father Redmond - Cleric

Father Redmond will whispers to the others that they must be wary of everyone in this village. The Hostler might possibly be trusted but they should still be leery of him.
He also whispers "Don't drink or eat anything here. You might not know it, but I'm also a famous chef and will cook all of you something once we are in a more private place."

OOC: Is my Detect Evil still active. If so, how does that new character "resonates"?

Effric, Druid

Effric thinks twice about his drink and waits to see what the man in the white cloak has to say.

The white cloaked man takes the youth to the bar, lecturing him the whole time on the evils of thievery and greed, and buying him a bowl of broth and a heel of bread.

The urchin seems more interested in as getting as much food into his maw than listening, but occasionally nods or mutters in response as the Man in White continues his lecture. At the end of it, the boy belches and waits for more food. The Man in White gives him a copper and then sends him on his way.

He orders a drink for himself and scans the room. His eyes settle on your table...
