Many of the patrons of
the Waterside Hostel watch the party as they enter, sizing them up and trying to determine intentions, it seems. Tavin's grin
reaction check [2d6] = 11 seems to make a few of them even more hostile, with three large men, two humans and a half-orc, in particular rising from their seats and preparing for a fight. One of the humans, a swarthy, leather-faced man, pulls a dagger before one of the serving wenches whispers says something to him in a low voice. Never taking his eyes off the monk, the man sheathes his dirk and takes his seat as a new drink is brought to him.
The patrons eyes you until you sit, then return to their conversations. A manservant comes and takes orders, returning after a far too long wait with tepid, yellowy water and watered-down, skunky ale.
Soon after you receive the horrid drinks, the doors open. You see a man enter with a white cloak emblazoned with the lightning bolt and clenched fist of Heironeous over his plate mail armor. In front of him he pushes a filthy urchin who looks like he'd rather not be there.
