Non-Mutant Future

Howdy all, I'm getting set to run a campaign with some friends, but they want it a little bit more Mad Max/Conan/Fallout/etc and a lot less, well, mutated. My thought was to grab the Pure Human race and let them put the +3's anywhere they wished. Anyone tried this? Does it work?

I don't see why this wouldn't work. Having the PCs play nothing but Pure Strains in a post-apocalyptic wasteland would be fine. All of the mutations could be possessed by those "touched" by the fallout and/or the mutated monstrosities lurking in the Badlands. Sounds perfectly fine and fun!

Might consider making a few custom classes to help differentiate PC's and spread some usable abilities (skills) around. Here's a few possibilities to consider and expand upon if interested.
