I just used the random Mutant Future character generator and then spruced them up with some equipment (sadly I deleted the Facebook group that had all of that information). I belong to a gaming club that runs a gaming convention in Pittsburgh once a year, except for this year. Not sure how far of a drive that would be from Allentown (3 hours?)

Maybe try Mutant Crawl Classics? Some preview rules and a short adventure are already out.
It's going to be the next big post apoc rpg.
