Just a nitpick: isn't a pitchfork more like a trident?

I guess, but not a huge difference between a spear & trident in LL. Im just trying to keep it as simple as possible.

Looking at the rules, a spear is much better. A spear is cheaper, one handed, & can be thrown. But is heavier than a trident....

Villagers have gone missing again. This must end. A mix of clues, superstitions and omens point to the brooding citadel of the Emerald Enchanter. This silent monolith has sat undisturbed atop a windy ridge for decades. Legends say that a gree-skinned sorcerer dwells there, where he conducts strange experiments and builds enigmatic machinery. His green constructs patrol the grounds of his citadel. He is seen only rarely when he ventures out on nefarious errands that end in horrid screams and strange lights coming from his citadel. Now the time has come to explore his inner sanctum, and put an end to his evil deeds!

You are not heroes. No mighty warriors will slay the beasts. No wizard versed in arcane lore to cast might spells. There are no clever rogues to slip by guards and foil traps. Your band has no holy men that can call upon the favor of the Gods. You are simple folk, villagers that have had enough and have gathered together to face evil.
The Emerald Enchanter must be stopped!

Well, this is a pretty diverse band of angry villagers.

Halfling Cook
Farmer
Acolyte
Rake
Hedgewizard
Gravedigger
Dwarf Miner
Mendicant (friar/holy man)
Street Urchin
Elf Astronomer
Barber
Forester
Burglar
Cultist
Dwarf Butcher

We have a Butcher. Too bad I didnt roll a Baker and Chandler (candle maker). There is a Halfling Cook, so thats close. ;)

Sounds great. Will there be a new PbP forum opened?

I put in the request yesterday.
Characters dont really need a pic or detailed background. A sentence or two is plenty.

While we're waiting for the new forum, here's what I've come up with so far. I hope it's not too light-hearted :D!

~~~~
Merry Nade (Halfling Cook)
Merry is rotund, even for a halfling, and usually guided by his stomach. He has set off on adventure in search of new and untried culinary ingredients, upon his return he intends to take the gourmet world by storm and earn the coveted title of Iron Chef.
str 11 int 11 wis 8 dex 8 con 8 chr 13 hp 2
Armour: large pot (helmet), large pot lid (small shield)
Weapons: large cleaver (handaxe), knife
Other Gear: several small jars of spices, tinderbox, small sack, 3 days rations, waterskin
Coins: 30cp
~~~~

Sam Beckett (Farmer)

Sam has worked as a farmer his entire life. One day while milking the cows he was kicked in the head and suffered amnesia. He wandered off in a daze, and upon finally coming to his senses after an unknown interval (weeks? months? years?) he found himself in an unfamiliar country, still working as a farmer. His goal is to make his way back home, but he has no idea where that may be. In the meantime, his good nature insists he do good deeds along his journey.

str 14 int 12 wis 12 dex 13 con 12 chr 12 hp 3

Armour: none
Weapons: pitchfork (spear)
Other Gear: backpack, chicken, small sack of corn, small sack of wheat, small empty sack, 3 days rations, waterskin
Coins: 30cp

~~~~
Holly Moley (Acolyte)
Ever energetic and eager, young Holly was serving as an acolyte in the temple when, upon mis-hearing a request for chicken broth from the incredibly aged and decrepit high priest, she immediately set off to locate the legendary Lost Holy Relic!
str 10 int 14 wis 9 dex 9 con 11 chr 9 hp 3
Armour: none
Weapons: mace
Other Gear: prayerbeads, prayer book, bottle of wine, 3 candles, small sack, 3 days rations, waterskin
Coins: 30cp
