Character Background: I’m the youngest in a proud family of textile merchants from the lovely city of Darokin, in the Republic. Yeah, my family has plenty of coin, influence and all the trappings of their station, but I just wasn’t cut out to live a mundane life. As my parents say “I got caught up in the wrong crowd” and developed a liking for living a bit, um, outside of the law. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a thug, I’m what you’d call a “gentleman rogue.” I found my calling by helping myself to the excess wealth of the snobbish elites in Darokin, and eventually around Karameikos. Why, I pulled off some of the biggest jobs that Specularum had ever seen! During my time there, I learned the watch patterns and who I could bribe - to great affect! I pulled job after job, I was untouchable. In the middle of my good luck spell, I came across a rival guild's plot to kill some of the Duke's buddies - now I may be a shady sort, but murder and all that, well... that isn't good, and it brings the heat on all of us on the other side of the law. So I exposed the plot and saved the Duke's boys, although they wouldn't admit that. My good times continued for a long while - that was until I slipped up and got caught in a trap laid by the Knight Warden of Specularum. I thought it was to the gallows with me, until they told me that because of what I did to help the Duchy they would let me live, but I had to leave the city… and go out west as part of some damn army looking for some bad guys in the desert. Seriously. So as if I had a choice, here I go… westward chasing certain death and uncertain fortune with a bunch of strangers. Oh well, like a proverbial cockroach, I have a knack for survival, and if there are any valuables or pretty ladies out here, you can rest assured I’ll find em.’
