INITIATIVE baddies [1d6] = 6 party [1d6] = 1 Go basilisk, go!

The basilisk tries to bite Grimes monster attack [1d20] = 11 but he can't get him. Does he see himself in a mirror? [1d100] = 95 No!

Dieter fires a double(!!) Magic Missile (because he thought the DM would forget ;) ). The bolts of energy streak across the room and hit the lizard! [2d6+2] = 11+2 = 13 He is looking at the basilisk so he must save vs Petrification [1d20] = 20 SUCCESS!

Castinus wisely averts his eyes.

Dandy is a rock.

Shae tries to throw her cape over the scurrying lizard Cape toss [1d20] = 1 and CRITICALLY MISSES. Her cape flies across the room and she falls into the room. She looks at the basilisk save vs Petrification [1d20] = 3 and turns to stone!!! Oops. OOC: That to hit roll wouldn't have hit regardless of the area of effect.

Grimes swing his sword Grimes Sword of Dismembering [1d20+2] = 19+2 = 21, dmg [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4 injuring the sucker. He is looking at the basilisk so he must save vs Petrification [1d20] = 15 Success.

Furuk stomps on it STOMP!! [1d20] = 4 but misses! He is looking at the basilisk so he must save vs Petrification [1d20] = 8 FAIL. Furuk turns to stone as well!

So now half of the party is stone. The basilisk is injured but still alive. It's too bad people keep looking at the thing.

Grimes says "Okay, time to pull out of here!" Grimes will withdraw, telling the others, "Don't look at the damn thing, we need to gather our comrades and leave now!"

OOC: Grimes will threaten the others if he must, but he'll stress that we need to leave, grab the stoned ones, and leave the basilisk to wander, hoping that now being freed, once it's of proper size again, it will wreak havoc in this place while we regroup. If anyone balks, he'll tell them that it's small and cant really hurt us unless you look at it, so get our friends, dump the cask and heavy stuff, and get the hell out to regroup.

The stoned ones aren't just "stoney" or paralyzed or something, they are actually turned to stone. They way far too much to gather up. Both porters working in concert would struggle with Furuk, let alone adding Dandy and Shae.

Grimes will try to hit it without staring directly at it. Looks like we need to clean this mess up before we can get out of this one. Dang.
