Your cleric can wield a tetsubo to start with, and we'll treat it like a heavy flail (1d8, two-handed, same weight and price). I'll observe and evaluate this ruling after a few encounters. If something seems amiss, then thieves will steal your weapon in the middle of the night and replace it with a brand new mace. Deal?
