OCC: Please forgive me Feargus, very unintentional!! :o Please accept a Dagger +2, +3 v. goblinoids, orcs, and kobolds that Dieter hauls around like a crow snapping up baubles. Will that fit the bill?

OCC: Dagger removed from inventory. Spells, potion and scrolls added.

OCC: Sorry about that again!

Furuk - Fighter

Furuk takes the Potion of Heroism and adds it to his inventory.

He spends the down time cleaning his armor and weapons.

I wasn't there I'm not taking it! Very generous gesture, and it is appreciated.

We are heading to the mother load now. I'll start bidding on stuff here on out. ;)

The party has rested. Spoils have been divided and spellbooks copied. It is a new day. White Plume Mountain awaits!

Looking out the cave mouth, you can see White Plume Mountain to the northwest. It dominates your view that direction. From the two miles to its base is dismal moors and thickets: a marshy swamp that won't be fun to cross. The mountain itself stands alone rising nearly half a mile above the surrounding land. The white plume that gives the mountain its name issues from the very summit of the mountain another 300 feet into the air, trailing off to the east under the prevailing winds like a great white feather. Smaller plumes of wet spray shoot out of steam vents in the mountain's side, visible even from here.

Einar, Thief

Einar moves to the edge of the marsh, trying to find a path with which to reach the base of White Plume.

"Do you think we should leave the porters and animals outside the marsh, or try and get everyone one to the mountain?", he asks the group.

Dieter - Mage

I think we should take at least on porter along, to act as a torch bearer and general treasure lifter. The other can stay here with the animals.

OCC: Dagger +2, +3 v. goblinoids, orcs, and kobolds re-added to inventory.

Karl and Theo look sad at their impending separation. They've been together at least since you broke them out of the lizardfolk prison.

Come back safe, you clod, Karl says to Theo.

Keep the horses alive, you nitwit, replies Theo. Theo loads up on rations and oil and takes the hooded lantern that's packed away. He's got a backpack, some side bags, and other assorted ways of carrying stuff.

He also takes a small dirk, just in case. Puffing up his chest like a superhero, he stands with the rest of the adventurers and says, Onward!

Dandy, Dwarf Cleric

Dandy accepts the potion and ward from Dieter with a nod. He follows Einar to the edge of the marsh and scans the horizon.

"Let's get movin', no time like th' crescent, me grandad Bofgar always said."

OOC: New char. sheet updated. Still catching up, assume Dandy falls into the standard marching order.

You quickly discover that slogging through the marsh bites hard. Your boots get soaked, as well as your feet and your pants. Each step threatens to steal your boots as the muck grips your soles like glue. It takes hours to move just the two miles and is close to lunchtime when you get to the base.

At the base of the mountain you are soaked further as wet spray shoots from vents and makes the whole area misty. You are all soon covered with a film of water. Luckily, when you get on the side of the mountain, the rock (which is slimy and slick) doesn't suck at your feet and the mud that you thought would cake them runs off in small rivulets as the mist collects and beads.
