Cue Louis and Clark

OOC: I'm assuming the party continues to find the last Weapon of Power.

You walk through the room with the Kelpies, down the corridor, now thankfully drained of water, yet still slippery and past the gynosphynx, who is playing solitaire and ignores you. You head up the next corridor, the one to the northwest, that goes for a bit until revealing a 10' pit, full of water.

Grimes - FIghter

Grimes holds Wave out in front of him and says "Let me check this out." And he'll drop his pack and extra stuff, cautiously hopping into the water to see what is down here.

The water is foul but otherwise fine. The pit is empty but for the water, ten feet deep.

Grimes - FIghter

Grimes relays the info to the others, and then he'll grab his gear and swim across, offering to ferry other gear (and people, if needed) across.

The halfling, who is no longer on the edge now that he's found a purpose in life, ferries his companions across the divide. You continue down the hall until it turns and then leads north.

Image

This northbound hall is different... A series of copper-colored metal plates lines the walls of this corridor. The plates are six feet high and six feet wide. They are set into the stone midway between the ceiling and floor, forming a smooth, flush surface. The brilliantly polished copper panels so formed extend for 70 feet.

You move down the hall slowly. After about 20 feet, all metal, including armor and weapons, get hot and, after another ten feet, painfully so. You retreat back. At this rate, the metal will be damaging burning hot for everyone by the time you get halfway down the corridor.

Dieter - Mage

Dieter will arch an eyebrow: How odd... it appears the plates are causing the effect.... whoever built this place either did not make use of metal or had a way to make the hallway safe. Considering we seem to keep approaching these wonders from the outside I think there is a high probability that there is a way to deactivate this effect on the far side of the plates. Castinus and I can can remove all metal, make our way down and see if we can see a way to control this... this whatever it is.

Dieter will remove his pack and all metal. Keeping his wand of poly-self and healing potion he will retrieve the "ice" wand from the porter. He will wait for Castinus to do the same.

OCC: Upon closer inspection can Dieter tell what the "ice" wand is?

Dieter believes that Ice would be a Wand of Cold (LL114)
