THurwin - Wizard

Thurwin wrinkles his nose at the cloak and says "Well... that will need a good laundering prior to use, eh?" He glances about the room and says "That moaning doesn't sound good. Then again, we'll probably have to figure out what it's about soon enough. What do you all think?"

OOC: Either direction is fine, leaning toward the moaning.

Effric, Druid

"I agree we'll have to investigate that moaning sooner or later, we may as well do so now"

Father Redmond - Cleric

"Yes, it could be coming from a bound and gagged prisoner."

Tavin - Monk

I'm thinking this place may have been used for it's initial design, there is likely a prisoner in there. I think we should check and see.

Calthas takes the elven cloak and tries to dust it as much as he can and checks if it fits him. If nobody complains, he will then put it in his backpack.

OOC: It sounds like we'll check out the moaning room. Cautiously, of course.

The party enters the door south warily.

The door opens to reveal a dank, twenty by twenty room, with this door as the only entrance. Inside there are two humans, fairly badly beaten, and one gnome, who looks like death warmed over. He's been beaten severely and the moans escape from his lips. One of the humans is barely conscious and the other looks at the door with terror. When he notices that you aren't an ogre, he whispers: Is he dead? Lubash?

OOC: The cloak barely fits Calthas. It's magic still works but it isn't suitable for formal occasions at this size, at least not until the "tight cloak" fad returns.

Thurwin - Wizard

Just above a whisper, Thurwin says "Yes, that foul creature is dead. Who else is around here? Please, tell me what you've seen and why you are here. We'll free you once we've had a chance to talk with you."

OOC: Want to make sure these guys are who they say they are and not some bad guys run afoul of other bad guys.

Tavin - Monk

Tavin will stay back neat the door and make sure nothing is trying to surprise them from the rear.

The two humans look at each other in something akin to disbelief. The one who spoke before responds: Thank you, thank you. I am called Raymond and my friend here is Philip. We are merchants who were taken on the road not far from Hommlet. I don't know how far that is from here. The gnome over there is Canales. I think he was next. The ogre used this as a kind of pantry. Two days ago he took a halfing named Wilbon and a while before that, our friend Glendan, who was an elf. I'm sad that we'll never see them again, but you'll free us, right?

He looks at you expectantly. The gnome moans through his swollen face.
