Agrees with checking out the north passage 1st before continuing south

Peering around the corner you see the passage continue eastward a bit and then end. There appears to be a door at the end of the corridor.

Einar, human Thief

Knowing what must be done, Einar slowly makes his way to the door, "Stay back a few steps while I make sure it is safe."

He looks around the door making sure that nothing is poised to drop on the opener, and that no dart holes are in the walls. If the outside of the door looks safe, he'll press his ear against it and attempt to listen to noise on the other side.

(secret roll) Einar stops short. As he steps forward, he feels the floor begin to give and he quickly pulls back. The floor falls our before him revealing a deep pit with nasty looking spikes at the bottom. If the fall hadn't ended the thief, a spike almost assuredly would have...

KALVAIN

...pulls Einar back away from the pit.

"LAW! looks favorably upon you today, young Einar," KALVAIN smiles.

KALVAIN looks to see if there is a way around the pit to the door.

"I am liking these filthy cultists less and less....Off with their heads!"
Agrees that if possible they should still check out the door. She will keep an eye out behind the group as this is being evaluated

The pit spans the width of the tunnel. The thief can get across with a successful climb walls. Once the door is open it may be possible for him to help the rest of the party across.

Dieter

I second Andrea's sentiment, these cultists must die. Even if we can get to the other side we will be at a disadvantage if there is anything substantial beyond the door.

Einar, human Thief

Einar clutches to the paladin with the grip of the damned as the man pulls the young thief from the mouth of the spiked pit. After few moments of panting he catches his breath, "My thanks to you goodman".

And with that he pulls the loop of rope from his pack and ties an end of it around his own waist. He then tosses the other end to Kalvain, "If you and our stout companion will hold this end I will make my way along the wall and attempt to get us access".

Einar will attempt to scale the wall to the door. He will look for a locking mechanism and potential traps within, and listen for activity on the other side of the door. If all seems well he will attempt to open the portal.
