The door opens easily, as if it would be the place for the warrior and witch to make their final stand.

The room beyond is twenty-by-twenty, roughly the same size as the guardroom you are peering in from. The room itself is beautifully ornate. The floor is covered by fine oriental rugs, the walls by intricate wallpaper and fine art, the ceiling by an intricate mosaic. Dominating the room is a large and lavishly-covered four-poster bed, strewn with cushions. Next to it on a sideboard is a buffet of sweetmeats, cakes, and other delicious-looking comestibles. There are chairs with velvety cushions and masterful design-work. In the northwest corner of the room is a brass-bound oak chest.



It is a sight unexpected in the dank underbelly of the volcano you are in.

Dieter will enter the room and take a closer look at the foodstuffs. He'll check to see if they are illusionary.

Castinus blinks in disbelief at the opulence around him. He looks at the bed, casts a quick glance at Shae, then turns his attention to the brass-bound oak chest.

Dandy, Dwarf Cleric

Dandy hops on the bed, after looking under it as if to check it for monsters. "Might be nice to take a quick nap, and nappin' is all this is fer," Dandy says, looking at Castinus. He'll then peruse the edibles.

Dieter picks up a sweetmeat from the tray. It certainly feels real. It is not tasty though, more like hard tack than anything sweet.

Dandy hops on the bed. It hurts a little --- the bed is certainly not as comfortable as it would appear. It actually feels like straw on hard boards.

Castinus evaluates the oaken chest. The chest is unlocked, there isn't even a latching mechanism, but a search for traps Thief skill [1d100] = 25 reveals a trap. It is quickly disarmed by the thief and opens to reveal 400 ep, 300 gp, and seven gems worth 1300 gp total.

Ai, this is all an illusion... not sure why. He'll search the room in general.

A through search reveals that the only thing that is as it seems is the chest and its contents.

Shae pretends not to notice Castinus's glance or Dandy's admonition, but her blush betrays her. She attempts to cover by asking the mage about Wave, "What do you make of this Dieter?"
