Nuclear Sunset: New setting for MF from Vigilance Press

Hey guys just wanted to drop a line that the first regional sourcebook for Vigilance Press' Mutant Future setting, dubbed Nuclear Sunset, is close to completion.

The Southwest sourcebook contains location descriptions, ruin descriptions and numerous organizations detailing the post-apocalyptic Southwest, along with a boatload of adventure hooks.

Sweet. Can you provide details? How many pages? What will it cost? And where will you be selling it?

Hi there!

Page count will be in the 15-20 page range.

Price will most likely be $1.99.

And we'll be selling it at RPGNow.

So, someone turned southern Nevada into a post-apocalyptic wasteland... which means its the most honest vacation brochure I have seen of that state. LOL

I kid you not! The area around Area 51 is like a crater-filled moon-scape, with all the old atomic tests, and it even has its own cryptic face marked on the earth.

Yes, actually, weather and climate are not hugely affected in the setting of Nuclear Sunset.

One thing I dislike about many PA settings is that everything, everywhere, is a desert.

Nuclear Sunset is not like that. Things are warmer, which in some areas will mean drier, but in others more wet.

Each region will also have a very different feel from the other regions.

As the cover implies, the Southwest has a neo-western vibe, with some alien conflicts mixed in, and a dash of terminator for taste.

How about a page or two of a preview? :D

It's in layout now, once I have some pages, I'll be happy to share :)

I will point out that the cover is primarily the map, and everything on the map is described in the book, along with several factions that dominate the region politically.

I also agree. That is why I make my settings have climates kinda switched around...like winter in Mexico and Canada a desert.

Yeah, this particular part of the world is a bad test case for that idea cause, as other posters have said, it's kind of a post apocalyptic wasteland desert already.

I never fully intended this region to be first, but it grabbed me.

Each region in the setting will have it's own feel, and the neo-Western vibe of the southwest, and especially the vigilante organization, the Marshalls, really grabbed me, so here we are.
