Morgan will examine the shells, and wait to see what Tavin discovers.

Tavin finds that the pool is deeper than the blade of the knife. The knife does not react to the liquid, so it doesn't appear to be acid or the like, merely deeper than the 8" or so of the blade and the handle to the pommel.

Morgan examines the shells. They are broken shells of some sort, although Morgan knows that the sea is weeks' ride from here so these either came by boat up the river to Nulb or are from land snails. Perhaps they were used in some sort of ritual or were worn by a priest or victim at this altar.

This area was apparently a vestry. Bits of broken altar service are present here also, with a broken trident and pieces of torn, scorched robes of a moss-green hue. Other rubble includes several smashed benches, a small broken table, and a thrown-down wardrobe with one side kicked in and the doors torn off. A flight of stairs descends to the southwest.

Thurwin will enter and slowly approach the stairs. He'll listen for a while, and take 2-3 steps downward, just investigating.

Thurwin hears nothing coming from the stairs. They are dusty and haven't been used for a while. Below smells musty like a basement.
