KALVAIN (paladin)

KALVAIN shakes his head as if awakening from a reverie.

"My patron, LAW! (DM, whatever :)), had occupied my body to gain knowledge of this... place. However, CHAOS is so strong here he could not acquire much."

KALVAIN peers down the first hallway to the west and then down the hall to the south.

"It would be best to make sure there are no more foul cultists in that eastern corridor. We do not want to become surrounded."

KALVAIN waits for Dandy to clear the caltrops and then slowly walks to the eastern corridor. He uses his mirror to peer around the corner and then uses the power of LAW! to detect evil.

Dandy picks up the caltrops. He collects 25 at least -- a large handful. These would have caused serious injury.

Kalvain looks down the hall to the east with his mirror. From the reflection of the lightsource behind him, he sees little but can make out that noone is there.

He calms himself and uses his connection with Law to detect evil but nothing glows down that hall.

From the side of his vision, he sees a torch to the south-east. He turns to look (d6, 2, SURPRISED!) just as a pint of oil is thrown (d20, 7, MISS) which does wide and smashes into the east hall behind him. The torch follows (d20, 11, MISS) but it careens off of the paladin's armor. However, it hits the oil behind him and ignites it. The hallway east is ablaze and the assailants scamper back to the southwest.

Furuk turns to check on the condition of Kalvain and makes sure he is ok. He is infuriated with the cultists but tries to control his anger.

“Maybe we should head back up the hallway to where the west passage meets. We can wait and defend our position if needed.”

His knees give a little pop-n-crack as he stands from his crouched position of collecting caltrops.

Anadrea

Seems a little peeved at this point, "No more cat and mouse" she mutters

Instead of chasing after the ones who threw the stuff at them she suggests heading a different way (north?) to a direction they haven't went yet.

"They seem to be baiting us. We need to find their.....nest, and lay slaughter to them."

Maeglin checks for traps (d100, secret roll) as you decide to ignore the taunts of cultists beckoning (?) you south. He calls all clear and you advance west towards the door, setting off no traps.

A mirror is directed south down the hall, showing an empty corridor.

The door is on the northern wall. Maeglin searches it (d100, secret roll) and declares it trap free. The door is not locked. The mage/thief backs away from the door, inviting others to decide to breach it or not.

KALVAIN (paladin)

...peers down the hallway south of the door for hiding spots/ irregular features.

Kalvain nods at Anadrea, "Yes, perhaps yours and Maeglin's elfin ears are best suited to that task. I will try to sense for the presence of evil (Detect Evil)."
