Calthas will not wear one of those ridiculous robes once again, but agrees to go north.

Some party members don robes while others refuse to blaspheme themselves (or look silly).

The party heads north.

This corridor is sheathed in polished chocolate-brown hued marble, veined with black. Inlaid in the floor are triangular pieces of polished yellow marble, forming a definite path leading to the north. The brown of the marble shades toward beige as it proceeds northwards. Large bronze cressets are staggered at 10' intervals on either side of the hall; someone or something obviously keeps them fueled and burning brightly.

Peering down the side corridor, it turns after a bit. You can spy a door just after the turn.

Caydon -Rogue
While the others debate on where to go next, Caydon pads quietly down the eastern hallway to listen at the door. He is mindful that something may lurk around the bend, so his trusty crowbar is at the ready.
ooc: Caydon is wearing one of the robes.

Caydon moves Thief skill [1d100] = 4 silently down the hall. Not even his robes make a noise as the others watch him from the intersection.

He listens at the door listen at door [1d6] = 4 and hears nothing. The hallway as it bends is dark, there are no cressets in this corridor! He examines the door in the low light from the intersection. It opens inward to the room beyond and there appears no lock.

Tavin - Monk

Seeing Caydon move down the hallway Tavin moves slowly up behind him all the while pondering what kind of weapon he is carrying.

Caydon waves the others over and they move to investigate the door. The door takes a shoulder or two to force open and then the room beyond is revealed.

This large chamber was once an extensive library, as evidenced by the charred remains of books and litter of broken tables and chairs. Scraps of torn and burned scrolls are tossed here and there. The remnants of shelves, now broken and unusable are a testament to the works that were once kept here.

You also note that the hallway ends hard after the second door to the room.

Effric pokes around the books and debris with his staff, looking for anything that appears undamaged.
