Fr Redmond casts Hold Person on the bugbears spell affects [1d4] = 1 bugbears monster save vs spell [1d20] = 9. One of the bugbears becomes an instant living statue!
Thurwin casts Sleep spell affects [2d8] = 5 HD and another bugbear is down, this one in magical slumber.
Calthas throws a dagger at BB3 calthas attack [1d20+2] = 4+2 = 6 but the missile flies wide.
Effric swings his scimitar to bear on BB3 effric scimitar [1d20+1] = 11+1 = 12 and the blow is barely deflected.
Tavin uses the destructive butterfly sword technique on BB4 Tavin attack [1d20] = 19 which connects dmg [2d4] = 5, wounding his foe!
Caydon (autopilot) fires an arrow at BB4 Caydon attack [1d20+2] = 12+2 = 14 dmg [1d6] = 3 further wounding him.

The two able bugbears press on!
BB3 attacks Effric att [1d20] = 9 dmg [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7 but the flail is deflected by his shield.
BB4 engages Tavin att [1d20] = 5 dmg [1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2 who spins away from the weapon as he completes destructive butterfly.
BB1 is held and BB2 is slept.

BB4 targets Tavin, swinging his flail like nunchucks, att [1d20] = 16, dmg [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7 catching the monk hard.
BB1 is held and BB2 is slept.

Caydon fires a missile at BB4 Caydon arrow [1d20+2] = 1+2 = 3 FUMBLE fumble [1d20] = 18 You accidentally strike yourself for normal damage plus an extra 1 point. In addition, you fall on your back and are unable to right yourself for a round. dmg [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7. The arrow deflects off a tree and ricochets to hit Caydon in a very vulnerable spot which he naturally grabs in pain and collapses.

Effric continues his scimitar attack on BB3 Effric scimitar [1d20+1] = 4+1 = 5 but cannot connect.
Fr Redmond assists Tavin on BB4 Fr Redmond staff [1d20] = 12 but it glances off the big bugbear's shoulder with no effect.
Tavin swings his sword in the Mourning Daffodil Swing Tavin bastard sword [1d20] = 19 dmg [2d4] = 4 and cleaves the bugbear in the head, splitting him open and ending his life.
Calthas could attack the held BB1, but decides that BB3 is his target Calthas broadsword [1d20] = 5 but doesn't adjust fast enough.

BB3 is pressing his attack on Effric. BB4 is dead, BB1 held, and BB2 slept.

The DM is chuckling on the inside at Caydon's misfortune.
