"Good sirs," Castinus says in greeting. "My friends and I have come to put an end to this winter." He pauses for dramatic effect. "We seek the lost caverns of Tsojcanth."
Get thee to the dungeon. Get thee to the dungeon forthwith. Pass not the barbican. Amass not 200 GP.

The leader looks at Castinus grimly. I have heard of these Caverns and if you can end this accursed never-ending night, more's the better. Very well, stay on guard. There are raiding parties about.

He then waves his hand and the border patrol passes you, heading the way you came.

Dieter - Mage

Dieter resumes his ride also, trying to put some space between the party and the "patrol".

OCC: I will be on a trip for the next few weeks, in and out a bit, if Dieter is holding anything back please NPC.

Castinus nods in approval at how that went. He continues on.

The horses grow tired as you push them onward. The patrol disappears behind you.

Miles pass and you are forced to rest when two of the horses refuse to continue.

You are a few hours ride from the intersection.

Dieter opens his magic fortress again and you settle in for the night, the horses finally getting the rest they need.

Grimes - Fighter

Grimes wearily takes off his gear for a few minutes to eat and stretch out. "Too many things going on the past couple of days. I think it'd be prudent to have a watch tonight. Maybe up top, or somethin' like that, just to keep an eye and ear out. With some of those guys escaping, you never know... someone may try to bushwhack us."

If there is no desire to set up a watch, Grimes will go up late and sit quietly in the dark, looking and listening for anything amiss.

OOC: This fortress is cool, but a big target too, so I don't want anything big and angry to destroy it, so a watch would give us some advance warning of sorts.
