Character Name: Bombar Boulderfist (deceased), played by Nightblade
Class: Dwarf-Cleric
Alignment: Lawful
Deity: Kagyar

Image

Level: 2

HP: 8
AC: 1 w/shield, 2 w/o

Ability Scores:
STR: 14
DEX: 9
CON: 10
INT: 7
WIS: 14
CHA: 5

Character Background:
Ale, made o' grain, hops an' water; combined to such a wonnerful effect by the very folk of Kagyar hisself. That's how I always thought o' life.

Grain, hops an' water're nothin' without th' hand o' the brewer just as we'd be nothin' but stones ourselves without the hand o' Kagyar. Maybe that's why I enjoy so much of it (ale, that be), or maybe I'm just as much the thirstythroat me mates say I am. Either way, I'm Bombar Boulderfist, dwarf o' many specialties- head-smashin' and ale-drinkin' among 'em. That's as much o' me as most'll know, anyhow.

Head bald except for a long braided plait of hair, Bombar is a study in common dwarfness. His stout frame is as hard and unforgiving as the rock his people are storied to be made of, the only softness being a slightly bulbous ale-pot of a belly. He has deep brown hair and eyes which are the very shade of fertile soil itself. Adorning his face is a beard that is braided into three tails.

DM note: Bombar left the party on Moldain, Thaumont 7th, 1000 AC to accompany Kalanos to the Ilyakana Lumber camp. He died later that night when the camp was overrun by goblins.
Get thee to the dungeon. Get thee to the dungeon forthwith. Pass not the barbican. Amass not 200 GP.

Character Name: Iglishmêk Stonefoot (deceased), played by rredmond
"I endure until called home to the Heaven of Stone."

Class: Dwarf
Alignment: Lawful
Deity: Kagyar

Image

Level: 3

HP: 20
AC: 0 (Plate, shield, -2 dex)

Ability Scores:
STR: 16 (+2 to hit, damage, forcing doors)
DEX: 16 (-2 AC, +2 missile, +1 initiative*)
CON: 14 (+1 HP)
INT: 12
WIS: 12
CHA: 11 (4 retainers, 7 morale)

Character background: My parents came to Highforge before my birth on one of the annual gnome caravans. Though they were successful craftsmen, and I tried mining, the lure of the art of weaponry (before I even knew what it was) was always a draw. The savagery of the soldiery was intriguing, I could see the benefit of the passion… but I knew there must be better ways to defend and attack. Coupling passion with skill. I was able to study with the officers and then volunteered for caravan duty; learning from not only other dwarves, but humans and elves in weapons. It started with the axe and bow, but the beauty of many other weapons were shown to me. There I learned of the adventuring life. I could feel it’s, almost irresistible, pull, but I didn’t heed its call – I knew I wasn’t ready. Then one day, while in prayers to Kagyar, the art of weaponry coalesced in my brain. I had it; I could see how I should start my journey. I knew that I was ready, just needing to use the right weapons, in the right manner; so the weapons would feel but an extension of my body, the muscles in my arms. I can see that there is always room for improvement, I must always train and better myself. Always take experience by fighting and training with folks better than I! The weapons give me the opportunity to serve with and protect my team, my friends. A good team is where the best training is apt to occur, and I am always on the lookout for a good team. So now during time of prayer, I envision in my brain how to better use my weapons, how to better adapt myself to the art of weaponry. It may be sacrilege, but I still appreciate the skills that Kagyar has given me and afforded me the opportunity to continually better myself. Put me out in front of the team, allow me to attack first as part of a coordinated plan, and let me show you what I can do. No silly war cry, just the art of the weapon.

DM note: Igli died bravely on Loshdain, Thaumont 9th, 1000 AC defending the Sukiskyn homestead from the Red-blade (Gnhasska) goblin tribe.

Character Name: Marion Stoutgirdle (deceased), played by Scalydemon
Class: Hobbit/Halfling
Alignment: N

Level: 3rd

HP: 17
AC: 3

Ability Scores:
STR: 17
DEX: 10
CON: 15
INT: 12
WIS: 9
CHA: 5

Character background: Marion and her family originally hail from the Five Shires, but she has long since left that area and roamed about working as a bouncer at a tavern, caravan guard, mercenary and done some general adventuring. Her face and neck have been burned and disfigured in a dungeoneering accident caused by an errant throw of a lit oil flask by one of her party members while exploring the Caves of Chaos (thus the 5 Charisma). Marion has a gruff demeanor and is sometimes crude, brash and generally doesn't have many friends. The people she does consider friends she is very loyal to however. She will tell you she adventures purely for the loot, but secretly enjoys the companionship of others in the party and uses it as a means of having friends. She found the magical boar spear she always carries in an old barrow mound outside of the 5 shires while out exploring. The potion she has is a treasure from her excursions into the Caves of Chaos with a previous adventuring party.

DM note: Marion died bravely on Loshdain, Thaumont 9th, 1000 AC defending the Sukiskyn homestead from the Red-blade (Gnhasska) goblin tribe.

Character Name: Jarek (deceased), played by Adapt
Class: Thief
Alignment: Neutral

Image

Level: 4

HP: 16
AC: 5

Ability Scores:
STR: 12
DEX: 16 (+2 missile attack, -2 AC)
CON:14 (+1 HP per level)
INT: 9 (can read and write)
WIS: 9
CHA: 7 (+1 reaction, max 3 retainers, retainer morale = 6

Character background: "I grew up in the Black Eagle barony. I never knew my father, and my mother died when I was only a few years old. My aunt and uncle took me in for a while, but they had next to nothing so I ended up in the streets. I did a lot of bad things to get by, just stealing food at first but when I got bigger I took to roughing folks up for their coin and breaking into their houses... I did a lot of things I'm not proud of, but I always figured I did what I had to do to get by. When things got really bad in our part of the Barony, some of us took to fighting back. Not just robbers like me, but ordinary folk too. Farmers, shepherds... even an old innkeeper. We took to the woods, surviving off the land and doing the best we could to harry the Baron's men. I saw a lot of good men die, and in the end those few of us who were left decided to get out while we still could. Seeing those simple, honest people die for something they believed in changed something in me, and I just don't feel right about robbing decent people any more. Don't get me wrong, I still keep myself sharp. There are plenty of indecent people out there, and I find that they have even more coin to spare than others."

DM note: Jarek died bravely on Loshdain, Thaumont 9th, 1000 AC in the Dymrak Forest helping retrieve some horses stolen by the Jaggadash goblins from the Sukiskyn homestead.

BIO:
Ever since I can remember, I've kept a diary, but I never read it and never intended to. I write my thoughts and feelings into the air, or in the dirt. Shallow scrawling barely discernible, but usually not legible at all. Sometimes, I just write madness... words with no meaning.

Eventually, as I grew older and into my teen years, my Father saw promise in me because I was smart. He is just a simple farmer, but his brother has an arcane talent. My Uncle started to teach me more things... things arcane, things secret. He taught me how to influence people, charm them, and whisper to them at long distances. He taught me to be aromatic in my speech and to tickle the ear of the listener with a silver tongue. Glantrian by birth, I never pay much attention to cultural prejudice... that is for the weak mind. Even without arcane charming, I make friends of all backgrounds, social class, race, etc. I've even had a few Dwarven friends, though they would deny it.

My Father and my Mother encouraged me to leave home and see the world, and learn and grow more because Uncle didn't have anything else to teach me. So... I wander; a thin, small, deeply hooded figure gently gliding where I walk.

DM note: Biz left the party in the eastern moors on Tserdain, Thaumont 13th, 1000 AC to escort some refugees from Segenyev back to Sukiskyn.

"They say just because I was born into a Very Wealthy & Titled Thyatian family of Specularum that I had my life handed to me on a silver spoon. What utter balderdash, spoken by the ignorant and lazy. I have earned every accolade to my name, which are not insignificant. Who humbled the Bandit Knight? Who crushed the Altar of Symurgh? Who sent the Hordes of Gnar’sh fleeing like dogs? I am first to confront any evil and wrong-doing, and nothing can stand before my righteous might!"

"My mace 'Smiter' I obtained from ignoble use in the hands of a rogue Cleric aiding the aforementioned Hordes. As that Cleric has now left this plane to serve his foul master in Hell, Smiter now fights against his erstwhile allies."

(Renardius Pentacrucis is a young man with short-cropped blonde hair and flashing blue eyes. He believes in tackling problems head-on, and although he is rash at times, no one can question his dedication. He is rather puritanical and intolerant, both of which often cause him to make a bad impression with people.)

DM note: Renardius died bravely on Loshdain, Thaumont 16th, 1000 AC in the Stone Wood, defending his comrades against a Wolfskull goblin and dire wolf patrol.

Character background:

The name is Harn Hammerhand. I was from HighForge, but now I have no place to call home. I have fallen on hard times. My family entrusted me with their fortune to use in a business venture. I took my younger brother with me, as I was sure of my success. Along the way, foul Goblins ambushed our caravan, killing many & taking others prisoner. I was struck by an unlucky blow & knocked unconscious. Later I awoke as a captive. Another prisoner told me my brother was slain, but I still hold hope he escaped.

DM Note: This next part hasn't necessarily happened yet.

Later on as the Goblins argued over the spoils I managed to loose my bonds & escape. I returned to my family shamed. My brother is missing, maybe dead, my family penniless, my honor gone, I am scorned. I have sworn vengeance on all Goblinkind. I will find out what happened to my brother or die in the attempt. But I will not die alone. I will have VENGEANCE!

Note: Harn was killed in the ruins of Xitiqa in a fight against Vlack's ice wolf.
