I may not be a follower of Zagyg, but I'm praying to the man for a critical hit....

Caydon - Rogue
Caydon moves to place a pillar between the creature and himself. When the beast loses sight of our dashing rogue he (Caydon) will try to backstab.

Lubash attack puny humans

INITIATIVE baddies [1d6] = 4 party [1d6] = 1

Lubash attacks Fr Redmond, decoy extraordinary. The Sanctuary does its thing. Lubock save vs spells [1d20] = 15 Lubash hesitates for a moment and then continues his attack on the elderly cleric. monster attack [1d20] = 8 The hesitation does the cleric good, as Lubash's bardiche misses.

Image

Thurwin fires an energy bolt dmg [1d3] = 3
Calthas fires an arrow PC attack [1d20] = 4 MISS
Tavin swings his broadsword with a hi-ya! monk attack [1d20+1] = 14+1 = 15dmg [2d4+1] = 7+1 = 8
Effric charges with his scimitar effric scimitar [1d20+1] = 16+1 = 17 dmg [1d8+1] = 8+1 = 9
Fr Redmond, with a mighty quarterstaff to the nuts, PC attack [1d20] = 18 dmg [1d6] = 6 ends the confrontation.

The ogre falls to the floor with a crash, his bardiche clattering next to him. He takes two deep breaths and then breathes no more, overcome by his wounds.

There is the bedding of rags as well as the chest. There is a door to the west and one south in the southwest corner.

Encounter complete. Everyone earns 2XP

Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin smiles and pats Fr Redmond on the shoulder. "Wonderful work, friends! This brute didn't know what hit him." He glances about the chamber then says "Let's search this nasty place, shall we?"

OOC: Thurwin will search, the ogre's mention of a Master ringing in his ears....

Father Redmond - Cleric

Putting his hand on Catlhas' shoulder, "You were right young man. It indeed pleased the great Zagyg that I serve as a decoy as the fight went even better than my initial augury suggested." Taking a pause he adds "Maybe you have it in you to become an initiate of the faith."

Father Redmond will let the others search while he takes his breath.

OOC: XP added.

OOC: Hmm, if the augury says that the battle will be won at great cost, should the DM arbitrarily assign damage to PCs? I wonder if that spell is the bane of every DMs existence...

Tavin - Monk

Tavin does his best to dodge the arbitrary damage. He'll search the room after verifying the ogre is dead (and using the corpse to clean his blade). Yes, one does wonder who the master is.. was.

Calthas answers Father Redmond with a blank look. Still disappointed to have missed such a huge target, he silently goes about to collect his arrow.

The ogre has a heap of old clothing and skins for a bed, and a-large wooden chest for his treasures—worthless glass beads, brass candlesticks and other trash, 823 cp, 46 sp, and 3 gp. However, by some trick of fate, a small-sized elven cloak is intermixed with the old carpeting and rags of his bedding.

The door east is churchmouse quiet.

There is a muffled moaning sound from the door to the south.
