I purchased and fell in love with The Covetous Poet's Adventure Creator and Solo GM Guidebook. (OK, so I'm not in love with the cumbersome name...) This handy little workbook walks you through the process of creating a three-act adventure module (fantasy, horror, sci fi, and two new genres -- superheroes and mystery -- have been added to the designer's blog.). It does much, much more than that and is incredibly flexible, but that's the core concept of the supplement.

I liked the concept and ease of use so much, that I decided to take it for a very public spin over at The Savage AfterWorld and create a brand-new Cryptworld adventure right before your eyes in a series I've dubbed "Let's Make A Cryptworld Module". As it comes together, I'll be just as surprised as you are, as the entire project is driven by random rolls, huge tables, and a bit of common sense and imagination. Stop by and follow along as the module takes shape!

Review Of The Covetous Poet's Adventure Creator And Solo GM Guidebook

Part 1: Hammering Out Our Villain, His Plot, And Our Players' Motivation

Part 2: Our Villain -- Sheriff Larry Pratt, Werejackal

Part 3: Act 1 -- Terror Stalks The Streets Of Coldcreek, Kansas

And the series is complete. Be sure to read the final two entries to see how it ends!

Part 4 - Act 1 Addendum: Get A Clue!

Part 5: Act 2 and The Finale -- Howls In The Night

And when I find some time, I plan to take these blog entries and combine them into an actual gamescript for use with Cryptworld.

(And, for my next Adventure Creator project, something for DCC RPG!)
