LL and MF Paper Miniatures

Postby Dungeoneer » Thu Oct 20, 2011 4:40 am

Howdy folks! I'm Tim, and even though most of you probably don't know me, I'm not really new here.

So, a few months ago there was a discussion thread about paper miniatures, particularly for Mutant Future. I'm THAT Tim.

I'm now here to announce that I have officially begun Fantanomicon Press. Through Fantanomicon I am producing paper figures for genres including fantasy, post-apocalypse, pulp, and space opera! Every once in a while, I shall also release an old-school adventure for retro-clones like Labyrinth Lord or Mutant Future.

I have just uploaded my very first set of paper figures to DriveThruRPG: a set of old-school fantasy adventurers! And as my introductory set, I'm giving it away for FREE! You can get it by clicking here:
http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?cPath=7855&products_id=95904

A teaser is already up on my website for my next set of figures: Rugged Adventurers for pulp games! Check them out here:

And a set of mutants is in the near future! Yeah, I know, that was cheesey, but I couldn't resist!

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, encouragement, and patience! I wish you all--

Good Adventuring!
Tim

Cool stuff. For fantasy - Id like to see themed sets- Wizards, Cleric, Elves, Dwarves, etc. Each with 12-20 different figs.

Figs for Mutant future would be neat. Two heads, crab pincer arms, tails, Pure Humans, Animal men, Plant people- all the fun wierdness.

LOL. Much better than your non-links! You can see the goodness! :D
I think less female characters are needed. I dont think 50/50 is a realistic ratio.

Thanks Blood Axe, I'm glad ya like it!

That's pretty much what I have in mind for future fantasy sets, where all the figures are variations on a theme. Especially on monster sets. Most of the monster sets I've found seem to be a sampling with one goblin, one troll, one orc, one hobgoblin, etc. When was the last time you only needed ONE goblin? There ARE sets out there that are things like Goblin Warbands, but not enough of them in my opinion. And yes, I'll have more PC figure sets, and some will be like this too (all wizards, or all clerics, etc).

Don't worry about the 50/50 male-to-female ratio in this set. I did that special for this introductory sampling. I'm not striving for an even 50/50 split in future sets. It will just depend on how the inspiration strikes me.

I am looking forward to creating some Mutant Future figures! I mean, there are plenty of post-apoc figures out there, but most of them don't seem to fit with the gonzo attitude of MF or GW. Plus, it seems to me that it's nearly impossible to find suitable figures for MF monsters. I want to do sets of things like Morlocks, Pigmen, and Spidergoats.

Sorry about the non-links. I tried to insert links, but couldn't get it to work. I thought I simply had not made enough posts here on the new forums yet. Thanks for posting the pic, I should have done that! But if it is supposed to be a link, I don't think it works, either! At least, it didn't work for me.

My very next set is Pulp Adventurers, suitable for games like Hollow Earth Expedition. I'm hoping to have that one out before the end of this month. But for next month's release I'm planning a set of figures suitable for PCs in Mutant Future, and other post-apoc games! And then it looks like I'm working on a Space Opera set!

Thanks again! Stay tuned here for futher announcements, or check out http://fantanomiconpress.blogspot.com/ for other sporadically posted news!

With the new Goblinoid Games- Rot world RPG coming out- perhaps a set of Survivors & Zombies is in order!?? (or 1 of each. ;) )

For different adventurers- you could start a thread here and get some different ideas.

I must admit, I've never really been into zombies, personally. I don't really get why they're so popular. But I guess that part isn't important. They ARE popular, so those are probably very good ideas for sets. Thanks!

I will have to start some discussion threads to find out what sort of figures everyone needs. Of course, as far as PCs go, I'm thinking that would be pretty standard. I could have one whole set for each of the 7 basic classes. This would double if I included all the expanded races and classes in the AEC! But it might be good to get an idea of what monsters are the most popular...or the ones hardest to find.

This will be especially good with Mutant Future, I think. To get an idea of what characters and monsters everyone needs.

But I've already got the next three sets figured out, I've just got to get them drawn up and ready. So, I'll probably start trolling for suggestions next month! But if anyone's got a suggestion now, feel free to add it in here!

Thanks again!

With Rot World released, some paper figures would be really cool. One of Zombies and one for Survivors.
