Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin scratches his chin in bewilderment as Pax rides off. He taps his staff on the firm ground a couple times and approaches the traders with a smile. "Gentlemen, I don't wish to waste your time any longer, and we want to patronize your establishment. Let's keep this simple. You initially offered us 10,000 for everything. If that offer still stands, then we'll take it, and purchase our supplies from you and be on our way. What do you think, my good fellows?"

OOC: They offered us 10 upfront, so let's juts make it as simple as possible. If they give us 10, we split it, and each person buys what they need, the traders charge markup and everyone is happy, and we can move along - Hommlet has claimed more of our party than the moathouse and temple together, so we need to move...

Rannos Davl nods. That's fine.

He hands over 10,000GP for the items.

OC: Let's skip the role playing for other items. Rannos Davi and Gremag are the traders in town. They can provide anything on the equipment list at a 10% markup. Consider the purchases made, adjust your inventory and treasure appropriately.

Zagyg has looked upon this exchange. The good Father, in his haste to leave, forgot that it is Zagyg's Holy Day and it might be his mischief that lead the cleric and dwarf to leave.

Actions?

Hit points and marching order
Effric 10/10 <4,2>
Morgan 18/18
--Calthas 13/13
Tavin 9/9 <CLW>
Caydon 11/11
--Thurwin 13/13 <Sleep x2, Stinking Cloud>

Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin nods in agreement and thanks the traders. "Much obliged."

Pulling the gang aside, he says "Our comrades departed before we could cash this in, perhaps we should donate their shares to the respective churches here?"

If we divide the 10K by the 6 current party members, its roughly 1666 GP each. If we divide it by 8 it's 1250 GP each. What's the concensus?

Regardless, Thurwin will do the following with his haul: Buy some rations, launder clothing, and get most of his remaining coin converted to a gem or other portable source.

Once he's shopped, he'll head to the Church of St Cuthbert to make a donation and speak with the priest.

OC: Let's divide by eight. The other fellows earned it. Morgan will suffer a portion to be donated to the church of St. Cuthbert, since it is a lawful establishment.

DM, can Morgan get plate mail here in Hommlet? I realize he'd probably have to get sized for it, and then pick it up after his next dungeon trek, assuming he survives.

Yes, at the trading post for a 10% markup.

Calthas agrees to split by 8 and give some to the local church. He certainly hope he will not the nefarious followers of Zagyg again in this life!

At the same time he feels sad, in an odd way, to see both his antagonist companions go at the same time. Sometimes there are things you just cannot explain.

The elven warrior takes the following from the traders:
  • 8 torches
  • 12 iron spikes
  • 50 ft of silk rope
  • 1 mirror
  • 1 grappling hook
  • 5 days worth of trail rations

OOC: do we simply add 1250gp to our treasure and deduct the price of bought items, or do we consider that they are part of the initial deal?

Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin's shopping trip:
More rations, etc. (deducted)
Visit moneychanger, try to obtain 5 gems worth 100GP each, or a combination worth 500 GP total.
Get some change with the rest in platinum and gold
600GP left in a sack.

Thurwin will consult with the others and tells them that he'll be going to the temple of St Cuthbert to make a donation. He'll take any amount that anyone wants to donate (if any) and he'll head to see the priest with Morgan. Depending on others donations, he'll donate at least the 600GP he has left. Spending some time to enlighten the priests on what's happening in the temple, what we are doing to fight it, and a polite request for some healing aid if possible.
