At the recent mandatory insurance enrollment meeting at my job, I noticed the company offered something called "AD&D insurance." Which leads to an observation and a question:
Obviously, tabletop role-playing is more mainstream that I realized. And ...
Just what is it about old school gaming that you guys
aren't telling me?

The only difference between Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons is that, in the latter, the death and dismemberment is rarely accidental.

I wonder if AD&D insurance covers lost dice, Cheetos stains, soda spills and games ruined by no-shows?

Accidental death and dismemberment makes no sense. I mean, if someone's dead, who cares if their leg's missing? Shouldn't it be accidental death or dismemberment?
When it comes to gaming, though, those Ford commercials have it right. "And is better." Can you imagine having to play Dungeons or Dragons?

Does this adventure end a vast, empty cavern swept clean of all treasure and utterly devoid of any dragons?
I can just see the dejected party standing in a circle, agreeing, "And is better."
