Calthas prepares an arrow, by reflex, but does not fire yet.

Effric, Druid

Effric casts entangle, assuming some underbrush is available for this. If not, he'll give chase to the one not being chased by Tavin, with the intent of subdual.

OOC: I'm assuming their hands are still tied?

INITIATIVE baddies [1d6] = 5 party [1d6] = 1 Why the f*** would the DM roll initiative if the baddies are bound and fleeing?

The baddies run! They are able to make it to the edge of the swamp, which brackets the dirt road you followed to the moathouse. They both splash in among the reeds, which provide some protection. You note that the rope that bound the fighter's hands is on the ground at the edge of the fen!

Thurwin casts sleep on the fighter (they split in opposite directions, not nearly close enough to get both in the spell's area of effect). He disappears among the reeds in the swamp.
Father Redmond casts hold person on the new master save vs spells at -2 [1d20-2] = 10-2 = 8 fail which freezes him in the water, which is waist deep. He is on one leg and topples in.
Effric casts entangle and the reeds begin to dance and warp on both sides of the road, and they grab both parties (DM ruling: no saving throws).
Tavin Tavin save vs spells [1d20] = 14 success attacks the master but when he gets there he finds him statue-like and drowning, being pulled under in by the reeds.
Calthas holds his attack.
Caydon is apparently so confounded by the fleeing that he takes no action.

Actions?

Hit points and marching order
Effric 5/10 <4/2>
--Calthas 10/13
Tavin 9/9 <CLW>
Father Redmond 13/13 <5/3>
Caydon 11/11
--Thurwin 5/5 <sleep x2>

Effric, Druid

Effric will command the reeds to release the prisoners, now that they are helpless.

OOC: A spell trifecta! Overkill, but still cool.

Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin shakes his head and says "Lets secure them again, and let's hobble them with some rope so they can only walk, not run. Perhaps they need a good rap to the head to clear their thoughts."

Let's grab this Master fellow, and assuming the fighter is asleep, him too. As the master is gathered, Thurwin will give him a humored glance and with a chuckle says "I would have expected a more grandiose plan from one who calls himself the master. That was pathetic."

Let's gather em' and get moving. Stupid dopes.

Tavin - Monk

Tavin will do his best to fish the master out, he'll punch/slap him up if he resists. If he's choking Tavin will toss him on dry land, on his back, head to the side to he can get the water out. Karma bring around what thou has sown...

Tavin drags the evil cleric from the fen, as the reeds stop their grasping at Effric's command. He expresses the choking, held "new master," forcing what seems like pints of dirty water from his lungs. He is still held, as that magic is still in force.

The party goes to retrieve the lieutenant, but discover him to be dead. The water or strangling reeds (or both!) asphyxiating the man in his magical slumber, face purplish in the few minutes it took to drag his from the marsh.

Tavin - Monk

(assuming the prisoner is in danger of suffocation) Un-knotting this belt of weapons and tossing it a good 15 feet away. Tavin will pick the new master up, head down upside down, to let everything out. Is there anyway to release the magic on him? It may be... keeping him from breathing.

Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin shakes his head in disgust at the sight of the dead LT. "Cowards. The evil ones always are. Just as my brother always says. Oh well, let's hobble our Master here and if he twitches, whack him good, men." Thurwin does one more search of the LT to make sure he had nothing. (We already removed and kept all the equipment they had except for their cool hip evil cloaks and normal clothing.)

Let's make speed to Hommlet and Rufus. (The mage, not the guy from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Father Redmond - Cleric

Answering to Tavin "Hummm... I don't think I can stop the spell though I can assure you that he is most definitely breathing. Otherwise it would have killed him the first time he was stuck in Zagyg's embrace."

OOC: How come one of them got rid of his rope? Could they cast a spell to free themselves or could the cloaks be some kind of Free Movement magical capes?
