I just posted to get a slot in there for the character; now I'm reading through AEC to see what class I wanna play - or if others get their classes in first - what class the party needs.

How are clothes dealt with? Do I mention clothes in equipment ? Is the weight of underclothes assumed in armor weight? I'm used to not worrying about these details.

The only clothes that are part of the encumbrance are those with weight on AEC27 (boots, belt, etc). If you are wearing armor you need can consider the weight of that to include undergarments but not boots, gauntlets, cloak or helmet (helmets are purchased separately in AEC but will only come into play with stalactites, murder holes, monkeys in trees, and motorcycle riding -- so make sure to always wear your helmet!). Since you aren't paying for this stuff in anything but encumbrance, it's good to track it all. Otherwise we might get someone wanting to use the Shields Shall Be Splintered rule and carry twelve dozen shields.
