Encumbrance Idea (removed by poster)

Postby bighara » Fri Apr 22, 2011 4:41 pm

EDIT: My idea turned out to be pretty similar to Raggi's LotFP encumbrance system. While he goes into more detail than I did, and it wasn't 100% identical, since I read his rules several months ago, I don't feel right leaving it up like this as it's part of his game's appeal.

I like it! Easy & simple. Winter gear/clothes doesnt come up to much in my games though.

And if you wanted to factor in strength, you could simply subtract the strength modifier (the standard one from the strength chart) from the total...

Is it because of the setting's climate or because your don't usually worry about weather?

@kipper
I like the ST idea. I may add that. :)

To keep it in line with LL core rules:

Awesome! :D

I've just been trying to encourage my players to / insist that they work out their encumbrance, and this will make the job a whole lot easier.

Isn't this the encumbrance system from Lamentations of the Flame Princess, bighara? Is that why you said it seemed like you'd read it before?
I was looking at the LotFP character sheet last week thinking how elegant and quick-n-easy it seemed. I'll very likely make a switch to it myself.

Dannnnnnng!

I own the box set but it's been months since I looked at it. I had to dig out the books to see if that's where the idea came from. Consciously, I was riffing on RQ 2e's "things."

No intention of plagarizing. :oops:
