Day 14, Moldain, Thaumont 14th, Viper goblin (Jaggadash) lair, Turn 5

Soldath, the goblins have no treasure. It's almost as if you've been here before, and already searched them...;)

Turning right, the corridor bends back in the direction from which you came, presumably revealing one of the doors you already investigated. Darkness emanates from an additional corridor that branches off to the left.

You find yourselves standing in complete silence, holding your breath for reasons you cannot explain. Blood pulses through your temples. The realization that you've slept in a goblin lair begins to make you feel ill, unclean.

Actions?

Athelstan - Fighter

Athelstan impatiently follows Tret, muttering "foul creatures... let's hurry and be done with this. I may never be able to wash this stink off of my garments. Reminds me of Traldaran elderly... smells like rotten cabbage...."

He follows, ready for any ambush, his mood getting more surley the longer they are in this cesspool.

Harn stays ready, keeping a careful watch for trouble.

Day 14, Moldain, Thaumont 14th, Viper goblin (Jaggadash) lair, Turn 6

Steeling yourself for what might lie ahead, you follow Tret down the hallway to the left.

The doorway leads into a roughly oval chamber about 25 feet wide. By the light of Soldath's staff, your eyes scan the room, trying to decide what to focus on first. More than half a dozen little goblin corpses litter the room. The floor writhes with the now familiar sight of hundreds of snakes. They slither in and out of sight, between goblin fingers, into and out of nostrils and mouths. A larger goblin corpse lies alongside the carcass of a dwarf. In an alcove in the back, a statue of a viper, five feet tall, looms over the scene, staring at you with empy eye sockets.

Athelstan - Fighter

Athelstan shakes his head in disguist and says with thinly veiled sarcasm - "How tragic. Let's search this bunch and be done with it. Wonder who the big fella is, uh... was?" He'll go about searching, being cautious that no snakes are present on who or what he's searching. His first target will be the big fellow.

Tret, rogue

Tret searches the dwarf and then checks out the statue. He is looking for traps, secret panels, other markings, etc.

Is there a connection between snakes and horses? he wonders aloud.

Athelstan, the big fella appears to be a female, the little goblins children. They all look to have been stabbed, including the dwarf, who, if your nostrils are to be trusted, died several days before the goblins. They have nothing of value.

Tret, you have trouble getting close enough to the dwarf to search him; the smell is too foul. You find no traps or secret compartments anywhere.

Harn, you recognize the dwarf as a member of your clan.

Any other actions?

Harn lowers his head sadly.
Alas, one of my kin, slain.....

He examines the statue, then the room for any secret doors or panels.
