Hello there! I'm surprised I haven't registered here before - I'm on most of the OSR forums these days. I grew up on B/X, so this is naturally the sort of place I ought to hang out. However, I've recently discovered the B/X precursor, Holmes Basic, so I've been a bit more active in the OD&D field. I'm planning to publish Blueholme Prentice Rules and the Maze of Nuroment (a basic rulebook and introductory module) as a free PDF this Christmas.

Hi Everyone (or Anyone),

I’m Scott. I’m a life-long monster fan, staring with Saturday afternoon viewings of the Universal monsters as a kid. I was fairly new to RPGs when I came across the original Chill, but the packaging immediately convinced me to give it a try. Between the subject matter and mechanics, it immediately became my favorite game. The Mayfair edition didn’t interest me – I think it was mainly the art style that put me off, and at the time I had moved and didn’t know anyone into RPGs. When I found out about CRYPTWORLD, I immediately bought the .pdf and joined this forum…where I’ve been lurking for the better part of a year. But now that I’m gearing up to play here, it seemed like a good time to say hi.

So.. “Hi.” :D

HI, Scott. Thanks for popping in. We're a friendly group here, and Dan and Tim are eager to encourage all the Pacesetter love possible. Did you get in on the play-by-post Cyrptworld game elsewhere on these forums?

Yes, Tim's Cryptworld game. I enjoyed reading the Red Eye game, and thought the twist was especially well done.
