The corridor is explored, with Caydon the rogue checking things out ahead.
The door to the north is closed but doesn't appear locked. listen at doors [1d6] = 2 He hears a shuffling and something that sounds vaguely like dogs.
The small corridor south has two doors. Caydon listens at the west door listen at doors [1d6] = 2 and hears nothing. He listens at the east door listen at doors [1d6] = 3 and hears nothing there either.
The corridor tuns north ahead, quickly splitting to the northwest and east again.
Actions?

Calthas positions himself so as to have a good aim at anything behind the door, and waits for someone to open it.

A 20x20 room is beyond. There are three gnolls here, and they are posed to strike. The door in the northeast corner is open and a barking sound comes from there.

There is no surprise! The party has initiative!
