Marcus, paladin

It is decided then. He adds the sword to his collection, helps Jayce with the armor, hands Nahin the staff, then picks up the urn. Thank you, mighty Viliusk. We will do good in your name with these gifts, and deliver these ashes to the Wolverine tribe so they can build your shrine. Rest well.

As you are gathering the loot, another tremor, this one a bit sharper than the previous, rocks the chamber, causing a cascade of dust to rain down from the ceiling. Several resounding cracks are heard throughout the room. Grinkle, looking about says sheepishly "Master Marcus, I think we should be going now." No sooner do the words leave Grinkle's lips then a much deeper rumble and shakes comes from the ground, and one of the huge doors falls off its hinges to the floor below with a thundering crash!

Yes Grinkle, you're right. Everyone out, I'll be hindmost. We must be quick about it.

"No need to tell me twice, Master Ghost Whisperer," Rory says. "Let's go!"

With that, Rory heads to the surface.

At Marcus' urging (and the ominous sounds coming from the earth) you all start to beat a hasty withdrawal the way you came in. As you exit the secret door into the main initial mound area, there is a steady rumble coming from behind you, small pebbles and fractured stone are starting to fall from the walls and ceiling. A loud booming crash echoes from behind you, and you keep moving.

You finally make it to the exit leading up, and by now there are large chunks of earth falling in the entry, and tree roots that were held in check are now hanging all over the entry, making exit challenging as they cling to your gear. Swords are drawn and with some urgent hacking at the roots, you are on your way up and out.

As you get within 20' of the exit, you can hear the sounds of excited chatter outside. As you burst into the fading daylight, you see the Wolverine warriors (plus about 10 more that have shown up since you went under) and about 10 shattered skeletons on the ground. All chatter stops as you emerge - that is until all eyes focus on Marcus' package: The Urn. A large cheer erupts from the men, and Klekt materializes from behind the mass with upraised arms, happily chattering away. He charges at Marcus and drops to his knees, gesturing with reverence to the urn. All the Wolverines drop to the ground and do the same. As this is going on, the ground heaves and groans, and a resounding THUD sounds from beneath the mound, and a billowing cloud of dust shoots out of the opening. It appears the mound is now collapsed.

Klekt rises and says in broken common "This is great day for Wolverines and men of Daggerford. We go to village, Mangalore throw large celebration! WE GO!

The Wolverines make gestures of respectful reverence to the mound, and begin gathering the bones of the fallen guard skeletons, depositing them in the open area of the mound, while others begin to put the stones back over what's left of the opening.

Actions? Looks like it's time to travel to the Wolverine's hood. Any objections or actions prior?

Nahin - Elf

Dusting himself off and blinking in the bright sun light: That was getting close.... Watching all of the Wolverines: Yes, let's head to your village, you got food there, right?

Marcus, paladin

Marcus turns bright red when the Wolverines begin prostrating. He isn't used to that kind of attention.

Hey Rory, he whispers. Do you want to carry this thing? all the while trying to smile and "act normal" for the Wolverine clan folk.

"Why," Rory answers. "Too heavy for you? or just don't want the attention? Let me see that," he adds, not waiting for an answer.

Once the skeletons have been interred, your merry band departs the area and heads toward the clearing where the campsite was. It's late in the day so Klekt proposes that you stay here tonight and head out in the morning. It will take about one full day of travel to reach the village. In the meantime, 4 of the warriors are sent out ahead to notify Mangalore of your success and pending arrival.

As you settle back in to the campsite and prepare for dinner, spirits are high and all the Wolverines can't help staring at you in respect. Rory allows the assembled to see the urn (none will touch it out of reverence) and once the freakshow interest in the urn is done, Rory tucks it away for safekeeping. You notice that since you've been gone, two warriors who remained behind have bagged 4 large does and are preparing them for the evening meal as you return.

Within a couple of hours a hearty meal is served and there is much chatter and light atmosphere, and a cask of fine Ale is opened and made available to all except those warriors on guard duty. You see little of Klekt, he seems to be in his tent, and the warriors spend most of their time socializing amongst themselves. They don't appear to be ignoring you on purpose, but the language gap prevents them from engaging in meaningful conversation, but they keep bringing you food and ale and give you encouraging glances and pats on the back.

The evening is yours, there are close to 20 warriors in the camp plus Klekt, and you aren't expected to pull guard duty unless you wish. One thing you note - many clouds have moved in, and the chill in the air has picked up. The unseasonable weather seems to have passed, and based on your prior experience, you'd say you are in for some snow. The warriors notice it too, but seem pretty content to celebrate tonight, and worry about weather and travel tomorrow.

Any actions? if nothing, we'll get on the road... assuming no encounters. Anyone taking a watch or special precautions, etc? Rory, where will you secure the urn?

Marcus, paladin

Marcus gathers the Dutybound. I trust the Wolverines to guard the camp, but we've a special duty here, and we are bound to perform it. I suggest we keep watch too, but only over the urn itself. This will avoid accidental insult of their watch abilities, whist keeping our understanding that the urn is a special thing. As usual, I will take first watch.

He pulls his Dagger of the North, As I am asking all of you to take time from your sleep, the one on watch can hold this whilst performing his duty. It will keep you warmer than sitting at a fire will, or at least evenly heated -- no hot cheeks and colder cheeks with this, I tell you.
