Athelstan

Athelstan says to Tret, "Can you hear if anyone or anything is behind that door?" Athelstan will advance to the door, sword out, silently waiting.

OOC: Do you think that due to Tret and Harn's injuries that we should go back to the entrance for now and camp, and explore this place once rested?

Renardius (Cleric)

"I agree, let's see if we can block or spike this door first, then rest... Maybe we could rest here where we can at least hear anyone trying to come through this door, plus we'll be out of the elements. The only thing is, I doubt the horses could make it past that pit, so we'd have to leave them tied up down the corridor."

Tret, you hear nothing beyond the door, nor do you feel any heat emanating from it. It looks as though it could be easily spiked closed.

Soldath, your search of the room reveals little besides the filth described earlier... Hold on! You notice that some of the snakes on the floor aren't moving. Closer inspection reveals that they're fake! Some are stuffed. Some are wooden carvings. One of the wooden carvings rattles when you pick it up. Perhaps there's something inside.

You also find a small casket.

Soldath - Mage

Soldath will open the noisy snake. Tret, you want to take a peek at that cask perhaps?

Soldath tips the snake down, and several items roll and slide out if the carving's mouth: three gems (100 gp each) and a small pearl on a fine gold chain
(175 gp).

Athelstan - FIghter

Athelstan will help spike the door closed, then he'll point toward the entrance they just came from "Let's get some rest, we could sure use it."
Athelstan plans on sleeping at the entrance so he can observe the horses, just in case another wolf, or that damn horse-thing comes back.

Tret, rogue

While the door is being spiked, Tret approaches the casket. He inspects it throughly (find / remove traps) and the locking mechanism itself. If it appears "clean", he will pick whatever lock there is and open the thing.

Tret inspects the casket. His search for traps turns up nothing. It appears safe. He tries to pick the lock.

No luck.

Tret, rogue

I can't pick this lock. Anyone want to try bashing it?
