Our First Mutant Future Encounter

My son and I just survived our first Mutant Future encounter! We were attacked by four Sporers. My son's character was a mutant plant w/ seven mutations! Two drawbacks, but he had Thermal Emission and could shoot cold rays...he literally was having a Blast! I rolled up a mutant humans, got the drawback Slow Movement (bummer...) but his redeeming mutation was Psionic Flight.

Well, when the Sporers came at us through the swamp, the mutant plant (my son) climbed a tree and my character took off into the air. I shot at the creatures with my shortbow, but could only attack every other round. My son blasted them with cold rays, eventually killing one. The others tried to climb the tree, but he blasted the tree with cold, making it slippery and causing the climbers to fall off (w/ ability checks failed).
The others finally tired of being assaulted by arrows and cold rays (and failing their morale check) headed for higher ground.

I just had to post to tell you how much fun it was playing Mutant Future.
