Aristide - Thief

Aristide shakes his head in resignation and with a deep sigh he grabs his longbow and knocks an arrow, glancing toward the direction of the approaching flying thing. He mutters to himself "flying creatures... Temples of Death... a sinister Master of whatnot... what have you gotten yourself into, Aristide?" He glances over at the others and says "I'm assuming this flying thing is probably bad, eh? And what is that crazy fellow shouting about? Perhaps the flying thing will be similarly bothered by his rantings and attend to him."

Aristide flicks his hair to the side and does his best to strike a defiant pose, glancing at Taranna and winking at her.

The sound of the drumbeat intensifies, as does the frequency. The raft starts to tilt from side to side as an odd breeze begins to stir the otherwise still waters of the Asanda River. A sense of doom fills your soul.

Flying down the river toward you is a huge winged beast! He's about a thousand feet away, and quickly advancing.

Suddenly, a portion of the wooden palisade surrounding the village bursts open. Three hulking brutes with sharp claws and mottled skin emerge from the debris, racing toward you at an alarming rate. They're not quite in melee range, but will be much sooner than you like.

Thanks to all your years of adventuring, you know who you're up against: three trolls and a wyvern! Yikes!

Actions?

OC: Illustrations to follow. The mouse pointer on my laptop has disappeared, making it darn near impossible to copy and paste pictures. Stupid laptop. Also, in the module as written, the wyvern takes off for half an hour, then comes back. But this is play by post, and life is short. It's on!
Get thee to the dungeon. Get thee to the dungeon forthwith. Pass not the barbican. Amass not 200 GP.

Aristide - Thief

Aristide winces at seeing the Trolls as well. He'll focus on the wyvern, hoping to get a good shot at it with his arrow. He can't spar with the trolls, so if they advance toward him, he'll flee to a position that will allow him to take on the flying creature.

Lightning Bolt
Level: 3
Duration: Instantaneous Range: 180'
The caster releases a powerful stroke of electrical energy that is 60' long and 5' wide. It deals 1d6 points of electricity damage per caster level (8) to each creature within its area. The lightning bolt sets fire to combustibles and damages objects in its path. It can melt metals with a low melting point, such as lead, gold, copper, silver, or bronze. If the damage caused to an interposing barrier shatters or breaks through it, the bolt may continue beyond the barrier if the spellÊs range permits; otherwise, it stops at the barrier just as any other spell effect does. Any creature caught in the area of effect receives a saving throw versus spells. A successful save reduces damage by half.
