WOTC has made available some of the old modules in pdf format again over at DRIVETHRU RPG! So cool...YMMV! :D

That'll work too. All of their sites got deep-sixed this morning with the response for the classic modules. It's nice to see they finally got them up to handle the load.

As a bonus B1: In Search of the Unknown is free (at least for now).

It's nice to see them getting their act together on the pdfs. I'm still waiting on most of the stuff I had previously purchased, but from what I'm hearing it's all being rescanned with newer technology. No POD (yet? - fingers crossed...) sadly.

For some reason, I doubt they'll do POD. Dunno why, it's just a feeling.

I downloaded the free B1 and it is a nicer scan than the old one.

I'm curious as to how this will affect OGL and retro-clones, publishing-wise (either publishing for the classic systems, or if the OGL will suffer for open source content).

Having had a look at what is available, I don't think it will scratch the same itch as the retro-clones do. While it is nice to have some of the original material available now, the retro clones go beyond the few crumbs that WotC have thrown out. Unless WotC make their entire back catalogue available, I think the retro clones will keep their end up. Even then, the situation has fragmented so much that WotC will just be one player amongst many others.
