Starting Age

On page 15-16, character age is discussed. On initial look, it appears that every race will start as an Adult, no matter what they roll for starting age.

It also states that all Ability adjustments due to age are cumulative starting with Adolescent.

Does that mean that all player characters begin with +1 STR and +1 CON? (Adolescent: WIS -1, CON +1 AND Adult: STR +1, WIS +1)
Or do the just keep what they rolled?

Correct. So if I'm a human with ability scores of 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, and 12, here is how they fluctuate as I age:

Adolescent:
STR: 12
DEX: 12
CON: 13
INT: 12
CHA: 12
PSI: 11

Adult:
STR: 13
DEX: 12
CON: 13
INT: 12
CHA: 12
PSI: 12

Middle-Age:
STR: 12
DEX: 12
CON: 12
INT: 13
CHA: 12
PSI: 13

Elderly:
STR: 10
DEX: 11
CON: 11
INT: 13
CHA: 12
PSI: 14

Venerable:
STR: 9
DEX: 10
CON: 10
INT: 14
CHA: 12
PSI: 15

All characters should start out as adults, but the above stats are helpful if the characters run into a disease or other effect that causes rapid or reverse aging. If this happens, the SM must secretly roll 3d6 and compare the result to the table on page 16 to determine the affected character's age at death. So the character may die before ever reaching Elderly or Venerable.
