The Cavern

You move to the next marker, and the next. It's slow and dark. Dieter's light source illuminates some and you can occasionally see some florescent lichen, but it's still dark. The sharp shadows cast by the light make travel slow and it takes a good fifteen minutes to find the next marker when you reach the one you're going for.

You look back as you pass the third marker and, if you strain your eyes, you imagine you can see where you came from behind you.

(I'm mainly showing you this because I thought it was cool) :)

You stop at the third marker for a bite to eat and then head off for the fourth. Being so dark and underground, you have lost any idea of day or night and it's difficult to know what time it could be.

Between the fourth and fifth markers, you see a sword sticking out of the ground about fifty feet away. It looks like an obsidian blade, a similar black stone that the lizardfolk warrior's spears were tipped with and the Darkling's sword was.

You are fifty feet away from the sword, sticking in the ground like the sword in the stone.

Grimes - Fighter
OOC: That is a pretty cool diagram. I was trying to picture how that looked... neat.

IC:
Grimes smiles slyly and starts shaking his head, "Oh no... ohhh noooo... I'm not touching that thing. Too many traps up in here." He starts looking around suspiciously for a huge boulder, angry demon or some other method of how we are going to get hit....

Of course he's curious, but after poor Furuk almost got pancaked by the Indiana Jones style boulder, he wants to keep his distance.

Dandy

Goes up to it and examines it (with his eyes), but won't touch it... yet.

Dandy breaks from the rest of the group to examine the sword. As he approaches (secret roll), he is surprised by a web that drops from above. The web covers the entire area, catching Furuk and Grimes in its outermost reaches.

From a stalactite above, a Giant Black Widow Spider descends on the helpless dwarf. It appears to be wounded, blood leaking from a gash in its side.

Only Dieter and Einar are free of the web's grip.
