Dieter

Dieter will keep low trying not to get hit by arrows while helping Cygnus anyway he can.

As soon as the cultist is spotted Furuk sprints towards him and attacks with his sword.

“Not so fast! It’s time for you to die!”

He tries to block the cultist from running into the mouth of the face.

Einar, human Thief

Along with Anadrea, Einar lets loose as many arrows as he is able in an attempt to stop the fleeing cultist.

Furuk and Einer spring into action but it is for naught as Anadrea's first shot (D20, 20, CRITICAL HIT!, MAX DAMAGE) drops the fleeing cultist on the spot. He falls like a sack of potatoes onto the hard, stone floor, the arrow that ended him sticking from his neck gruesomely.

Dieter is able to douse the enflamed druid, saving him from further damage.

As described before, the room looms before you, sans one living and hostile cultist. The pool of oil slowly burns out smokily.

Actions?

Hit Points
Paladin Kalvain 25/36
Cleric Dandy 18/23
Sylvan Anadrea 15/22
Vismund Druid 17/27
Fighter Furuk 22/36
M-U Deiter 13/18
Thief Einar 11/11

Dieter will enter the room and take a closer look at the altar as well as the mouth portal the cultist was headed toward, he will not get in the portal. Also, the glow indicated earlier, is it still present and does it appear magical or from heat?

Anadrea

Looks at the dead cultist with the arrow protruding from it's corpse with pride for a moment, and then walks over to the mouth entrance/exit to take a look and stand guard.

"If this swine was fleeing in this direction, this may seem like a good way to go next." she mutters to the group

To Dieter, the glow (which persists) in the alter may be magic or natural. He cannot tell without invoking magics of his own. However, Dandy the Dwarf looks closely and declares that the internal red glow in the black stone is likely a lava vein from the volcano into which the skull of Skull Mountain is carved.

Anadrea skirts the altar to look into the mouth. It is dark. Preternaturally dark. The magical light source that Dieter carries does not seem to illuminate into the mouth at all...

I am game for either way gents, might be less traps through the sinister visage but not the most comfortable place to go. With that Dieter will take a look at the cultist and see if he has a holy symbol of any type for the taking.

Einar, human Thief

Einar looks at the impenetrable darkness and then to his companions, "I would think this darkness does not last, unless the cultist had means to see through it". He snorts and scrunches his nose to think a moment before suggesting, "These cowards wouldn't run to anyplace that was really dangerous. What say I step through for thirty paces and find out if my guess is correct?"

He shoulders his bow to keep his hands free, raises the cowl of his cloak, and on hands and knees enters the mouth of the tunnel.

Anadrea

Seems pleased that Einar has volunteered to scout ahead. She uses the break in the action to take out some nuts from her pack and eat them
