"Moron," Castinus mutters after Grimes sticks Wave into the mouth. "Nice work, Dieter. Your parents would be proud of you. He peers takes a closer look at the open mouth. "Watch what you stick in there," he cautions the halfling.

OC: Did anything happen when Castinus tried to move past the leftmost face, and down the hall?

Grimes holds his ground against the face.

Castinus, followed by Furuk and Dieter, heads a bit down the westernmost passage (left). As he passes the face it says again, TURN BACK ... THIS IS NOT THE WAY! but the rogue heeds it not. Nothing dire happens, nor does he find any traps. He ventures down enough to see that the cave tunnel splits ahead a bit.

Grimes asks the face which tunnel is correct. The face responds with, TURN BACK ... THIS IS NOT THE WAY! Acquaire rubs the halfling's shoulders and says, For such a brave hero, you take the vinegar route a lot. What happened to your honey sweet side? It worked with me back in the grotto.

Grimes shoulders droop a bit at his lack of success with the face. He glances at Acquire and says "Aww, I'm just tired of fightin' and all this mess. We are always off saving the world, it'd be nice to get a break and rest a bit. I'm sorry. C'mon, let's go with the others. You are right. Sorry." He smiles at her and motions forward.

"Hey, wait for us!" Grimes bops along, tapping Wave below him as he walks.

Grimes and Acquaire follow the others. The face again intones TURN BACK ... THIS IS NOT THE WAY!

The tunnel splits, one way going north-west-ish and the other south-west-ish. Castinus is relieved that there are no traps that he detects (or even failed to detect that caused an agonizing death).

Castinus turns to the others, then shrugs. Does he note any differences between the two tunnels in terms of noise, smells, temperatures, etc.?

There are no differences between tunnels detected. This is a wet cave, the air is cool (but much warmer than outside the caves) and moist. You hear dripping water occasionally but there is no air movement from either tunnel that the party can detect. Even Dandy, dwarf extraordinary, cannot tell a difference.
