It's time for another Friday Freebie map. Click to enlarge.

Map Details:
* The shaded areas represent water. I picture the shaded tunnels as being completely submerged but ultimately that is up to the DM. The tunnels that run off the map can either connect to a water source (river, lake, sewers, etc.) or to another map.
* The dashed lines show the submerged tunnels that run under the corridors.
* Areas 16, 41 a), and 50 have bars/gates. I like to think that area 41 a) has the door mechanism for Area 41 b) secured behind the gate.
* Areas 1, 41 b), and 44 have columns/pillars.
* Area 9 is the 10' x 10' secret room with a ladder that gives access to Area 8.
* Areas 11, 29 a), and 37 have tapestries.
* Areas 24 and 28 b) have elevation markers. Area 24 has a raised platform/balcony with railing.
* Area 28 has statues.
* Areas 28 and 49 have bridges that crosses the water channel.

While this map can be used as a stand alone map, it can also be linked up with last two weeks' Friday Freebie maps. This map fits on the far left of the last two maps (click to enlarge):

It's time for another Friday Freebie map. I've added the Friday Freebie maps to my website. They can be found here: http://paratime.ca/friday.html

On to this week's map. Click to enlarge.

* Areas 1, 18, 28, and 29 have columns/pillars.
* Areas 4 and 27 have tapestries.
* Areas 8, 27 b), and 29 have statues.
* Area 10 has an altar.
* Area 12 has a well/open pit.
* Area 14 and the corridors in the top left corner have rubble in them.
* Area 17 flows around a central buttress/column.
* Areas 38 and 39 have a water channel and bridges. The dotted lines show the location of the water tunnels under the top level.

While this map can be used as a stand alone map, it can also be linked up with last three weeks' worth of Friday Freebie maps. This map fits on the top left corner of the last three maps (click to enlarge):

Indeed, very awesome! Stock those maps and you'd have a pretty wicked dungeon crawl.

And it's time for another Friday Freebie map. Click to enlarge.

Map Details:
* The shaded areas represent water. The stairs within the water channel act as a cascading falls leading to area 42 a). I picture the shaded tunnels as being completely submerged but ultimately that is up to the DM. The tunnels that run off the map can either connect to a water source (river, lake, sewers, etc.) or to another map.
* Areas 1, 15, and 29 have pillars.
* Areas 10, 28, and 38 have tapestries.
* Areas 15, 42 b), and 48 b) have statues.
* Area 17 is above area 20. The dotted line in area 17 shows where area 20 runs underneath it.
* Area 25 has a bridge.
* Area 42 has elevation markers noting the distance between the ledges (42 b) and the water below (42 a).
* Areas 43, 44, 45, 46 and 47 have bars blocking the tunnels.
* Areas 48 a) and 49 b) have ladders. Area 49 b) is a shaft that leads up (60') to Room 36.

While this map can be used as a stand alone map, it can also be linked up with last four weeks' worth of Friday Freebie maps. This map fits on the top middle (click to enlarge):

Time for something a bit different. It is a Japanese Minka (literally "houses of the people" a.k.a. traditional farmhouses) that could be used in an Oriental Adventures game. This layout is based on the minka found in Takahara (Yamagata Prefecture). Click to enlarge.

Image

The doza floor is a padded-earth floor -- earth covered with a layer of grain husks over which straw and finally straw matting are spread. This minka has only one window which was common in regions where deep snow in winter would block the light even if there were more windows.

Here is another Japanese Minka floor plan. This floor plan is based on the Tanba-style minka in Kinki region (Hirai house. Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture). This style has the entrance to the house in the gable end (called tsuma-iri). Click to enlarge.
