Nahin - Elf

Nahin will take the time to share stories of their exploits. He'll also take time to hear about the local exploits and what has been going on in town. If their are any elvish females that are "cute" floating around he'll strike up a conversation.

(Sorry for the delay - baby business and all that...)

Marcus, you pause to introduce yourself to the female warrior, and after a brief conversation and an ale (if you choose) you learn that her name is Charlene, and she is fairly new to town, having just joined the militia. She is from Cormyr originally, and has made her way north in search of new surroundings. She listens intently as you describe your exploits, and she shares that she has been mainly a mercenary who makes coin guarding caravans, and has decided to settle here to see what fate holds for her. She seems rather interested in your company (ahem..)

Not seeing any demi-humans around, Nahin takes advantage of the reasonably size crowd to spin yarns of Dutybound's adventures thus far, and as the ale flows freely, he tells grand tales of your exploits, keeping a large bunch of locals glued to his every word, and they cheer each time a bad guy meets his end. Nahin is the true rock star of the evening.

Jayce and Rory mingle with the crowd and learn that not much has been going on in Daggerford since you left, but engaging in conversations with locals and some travelers, they learn the following:

1. A couple small farming hamlets 2-3 hours ride from Daggerford were found burned and sacked with the inhabitants brutally slain about 2 weeks ago. No witnesses or survivors are known, and there are no clues as to the culprits.

2. The settlers at Cromm's Hold have been rebuilding the keep and have struck up relations with Redeye and his tribe.

3. The rat catchers brotherhood is on strike after a member was shorted on a payment for services from the moneylender in the marketplace. As a result, the rodent population in town is up a bit.

The festivities go on till the wee hours of the night, and Marcus has a willing companion in his new friend, and if the others pursue locals, they shouldn't have too hard of a time finding a willing friend for the evening. Anything else on this night and plans for the morning?

Marcus, paladin

Marcus is thankful that his order does not require celibacy. He continues conversing with Charlene and will see where the evening goes.

Nahin - Elf

Nahin will turn in before he gets "to" toasted. He'll finish with a final story and round, bid everyone a safe night and make his way to his room.

After a long evening of getting reacquainted with Daggerford, you all turn in in good time, it's a week day after all. Nahin, Rory and Jayce retire to their rooms to find hot water waiting for them and a sack sitting on the foot of their beds for laundering any clothing or fabric items. Grinkle calls it a night a bit ahead of everyone else and takes some food to his room to catch some shut-eye.
Marcus and Charlene chat away and eventually retire to Marcus' room discreetly. Before she departs just before dawn, she gives the paladin a sly smile and says that she bunks in the militia barracks (the same one you still have space in) and that she looks forward to seeing you again.

You awaken to a cool room, and a quick glance out the window shows you all you need to know: there is about 6 inches of snow on the ground and a stiff breeze is blowing. The smells of cooking food waft under your doors and one by one you head down to get some grub. Grinkle is already downstairs eating and chatting with a grubby looking farmhand and his friend, who appear fascinated to listen to the little hobgoblin chat about his adventures with you. As you get toward the end of your meal, the door blows open and a snow covered and cursing Sgt Schultz ambles in, and shakes the snow from his arms, waving at you all with a dumb look on his face.

"Morning to you! Glad to see you up! Sherlen was pleased to hear that you'd returned and she'd like to see you this morning if you've got the time. I think she's got a favor to ask of you, straight from the Duke himself!" He frowns and says "She's in her office till noon, then she's heading to Waterdeep for a while, some serious business, probably something to do with the orcs that have been about as of late, but not sure." He smiles and says "Don't keep her waiting. We don't have the saying "Rare as a smile on Sherlen's face" for now reason!" He chuckles and heads back out into the blowing snow, his loud bawdy curses audible above the howling wind.

You've got time to go anywhere in town you need to prior to your meeting with the commander, if you choose to go see her.

Nahin - Elf

Leaning back after finishing a plate of eggs and spelt: Hmmm... we owe it to the commander to hear what she has to say. Let's make haste before the day grows late.

He'll return to his room, cold weather prep his armor, put on all of his do-dads and return to the common room to join his comrades.

Marcus, paladin

Marcus finishes chewing his bite of steak, eggs dripping from it, and says, Agreed, Nahin. Let's head there directly after our meal. He seems to drift for a second, It is a beautiful day, isn't it? he muses to no one. Then he remembers himself and eats a grilled onion before cutting into his meat again.

Rory regards Marcus with a smile, then gets to his feet. Making his way behind the paladin, he places his both hands on his shoulders and gives him a congratulatory and affectionate shake. "Marcus, you sly dog!" he says. "I didn't know you had it in you."

Rory returns to his side of the table, then lifts his cup and polishes off the remainder of his breakfast wine. He gives a wink then heads upstairs to pack his belongings and joke about Marcus with Nahin.

Jayce - Fighter
Jayce sits quietly, looking around the inn, lost in thought. Remembering the first time he met Dak in this very room. How he befriended Han and the rest of the Dutybound. "We have encountered so much. Endured so much..." Shaking off his melancholy, he stuffs the last few bites of his breakfast into his mouth in time to hear his brothers teasing Marcus.

"I think you meant to say 'HE had IT in HER'!" Jayce grins broadly, hoping to finally see the paladin blush.
"This looks like a place we've never been to before!"

Marcus, paladin

Marcus' face turns so red it's almost purple. He leads the way out of the inn towards the commander's wordlessly.
