(Sorry for the delay - baby business and all that...)
Marcus, you pause to introduce yourself to the female warrior, and after a brief conversation and an ale (if you choose) you learn that her name is Charlene, and she is fairly new to town, having just joined the militia. She is from Cormyr originally, and has made her way north in search of new surroundings. She listens intently as you describe your exploits, and she shares that she has been mainly a mercenary who makes coin guarding caravans, and has decided to settle here to see what fate holds for her. She seems rather interested in your company (ahem..)
Not seeing any demi-humans around, Nahin takes advantage of the reasonably size crowd to spin yarns of Dutybound's adventures thus far, and as the ale flows freely, he tells grand tales of your exploits, keeping a large bunch of locals glued to his every word, and they cheer each time a bad guy meets his end. Nahin is the true rock star of the evening.
Jayce and Rory mingle with the crowd and learn that not much has been going on in Daggerford since you left, but engaging in conversations with locals and some travelers, they learn the following:
1. A couple small farming hamlets 2-3 hours ride from Daggerford were found burned and sacked with the inhabitants brutally slain about 2 weeks ago. No witnesses or survivors are known, and there are no clues as to the culprits.
2. The settlers at Cromm's Hold have been rebuilding the keep and have struck up relations with Redeye and his tribe.
3. The rat catchers brotherhood is on strike after a member was shorted on a payment for services from the moneylender in the marketplace. As a result, the rodent population in town is up a bit.
The festivities go on till the wee hours of the night, and Marcus has a willing companion in his new friend, and if the others pursue locals, they shouldn't have too hard of a time finding a willing friend for the evening. Anything else on this night and plans for the morning?
