A genre not covered enough by RPGs?

Early American Folklore. This thread at Dragonsfoot starts off as a thread about "Southern" Musical Instruments but goes off topic slightly and describes briefly a game based on a mythical early American history. I think this could be a fun era to play in. It maybe more of a setting than a genre that could be expanded for use in a Fantasy or Horror rpg.
