Wild West Game

Postby Blood axe » Tue May 03, 2011 4:41 pm

Im working on a very simple Wild West game. Probably only 20 or so pages of rules- heavily based on Boot Hill & the likes. d20 system
Its in very rough stages now.

Strength, Intelligence, Bravery, Speed, Accuracy, Health, Charisma, Perception, Luck are stats.

Im thinking of changing the names of some of the stats to fit the Western theme more. Like Intelligence could be Smarts.

More details to follow.

Any help, suggestions, advice is welcome.

That seems like a lot of stats. Perhaps some could be built off of others.

What is intended with the Bravery stat?

If you flinch under fire. (penalties) Like morale kind of.

Speed and Accuracy are for gunfighting.

You may want to check out "Pay for your coffins" for inspiration/ideas too, it's a short spaghetti-western inspired game based on S&W / LL:

Bravery or Courage is one of my favourite stats in Top Secret. Your combat effectiveness was always modified by your Courage - just being quick isn't good enough, you gotta be like steel when the shit hits the fan.

Hey Blood Axe,

I have been working on Go Heeled! a western game for about 2 years. The latest version is to the point I think I am ready for people to look at. Anyway, a free PDF is available here.
